no steps made on
the young girl still laying
grasping her teddy bear
as if she as only a babe
innocent and vulnerable
being afraid of the world
of what is to come
too overwhelmed
confused and abandoned
not understanding herself or another
nothing left for her here
too afraid to move on
wrapped in a blanket
from long ago
scared to walk from the past
not trusting her own steps
not trusting anyone else's
how can she get better
with no help at all?
wouldnt do any good
she can only control it
rise and be strong
take one step
she attempts it
only falls
teddy bear clenched in arms
too young and scared
