You said more than
That you love me
More flowed from your lips
And your fingers
Than those precious words
As I heard your voice
Read your writing
Promises were created
You led me to believe
Many things
Promised we'd always be together
That you'd never let me go
I heard you say
I was everything to you
No matter how far we were
It did not matter
We'd be in each others hearts
Our souls were touched
The poems are there
Covering my heart
But most of all
The promises not granted
They will never part
