Necronomicon
I'm sure that most people who have become as attached to the new age section of bookstores as we are, have seen and perhaps wondered about a little black book called "The Necronomicon." For those that have looked deeper into the subject of this book, you know that it is most likely one of the most controversial books you will find in that section. Well, at least the fact that no one really knows if it is real is controversial. There are several versions of this allegedly sacred text. The most common version is edited by a man known only as Simon. PSIG will start it's research and discussion with this version, and, if possible, move on to other versions for comparison.
Before we go into the actual contents of this book, we'll mention some of the alleged events and actual statements made by the editor and publisher. This book almost rants about the danger of its content. The editor and publisher both talk about strange and, perhaps, horrific events that transpired to and around them while editing and attempting to publish the book. The book also goes to great lengths in it's discussion of H.P. Lovecraft and Aleister Crowley. Some say that the book was written by the alleged editor in tribute to these to infamous men.
