UFO Sightings
Time was about 3PM in the Spring around April or May. I first saw when my Father came towards me and said look at those things, That is what people see and call UFO's. My Father said later he did not want to scare me being only ten years old. 5 Craft at about elevation of 4,000 feet I would estimate. First seen by me over the Old Ocean Forest Hotel. Our home was around 4600 block of North Ocean Boulevard. Craft were in V-formation. Had high domes with what today we would call tinted glass windown around the dome. The glass was much darker than what I would call tinted glass and was jet black in appearance when matched against the pure, reflected brillinat white of the rest of the craft. No noise and no movement in the formation which I estimate was about 100 MPH as the crafts headed South parallel to the beach. The craft were over the ocean but not far out from the Beach. Disappeared to the South. Reports were the craft were seen as far South as Pawley's Island. Newspaper next day reported the sighting and said Military confirmed none of their aircraft in vicinty. If you can find the copy of the Myrtle Beach Newspaper, more information could be gained. I heard my Father say Newspaper had been told to print no more. A neighbor had a camera and took film to store in Myrlte Beach to be developed. Some Feds took all the film waiting to be developed and visited my neighbor and told him not to talk about what he had seen. Some Marines were on beach from Camp LeJune and upon return to base, talked about what they had seen. The Marines were called before superior and threatened with Military Prison if they said anything else. Marines told my Father about what happened to them.
Can you imagine what I have thought over all these near 50 years when my own Government deines UFO exist!
