At school…
“Hey guys, I was invited to Matt Ishida and his band’s rehearsal, he said I could be some friends so do you want to go?” Sora asked pleadingly. “Tell me Sora how do you get backstage passes when I can’t, and get to go to the most popular band’s rehearsal, huh, what’s your secret?” Mimi asked cocking an eyebrow. “No secret Mimi, I don’t know he asks me too, I have no idea.” Sora replied. “You know Sora I think he likes you.” Izzy said smiling. “Likes me right, stop lying Izzy, anyway as I was saying do you guys want to come or not, it’s after school today?” “Of course, you can count on it.” Joe said. “Good.” Sora got up to get a drink.
Rehearsal…
Sora, Mimi, Joe and Izzy walked to the auditorium. They could already hear them practicing. Sora opened the door and walked in with the others following her excitedly.
Matt saw them come in and stopped and walked over to them. “Hey Sora, Mimi, Joe and Izzy, happy you guys could come.” Matt said with a huge smile. “He remembers us, cool.” Izzy said to Joe. “I know, he’s a good man with a good memory.” Joe replied nodding his head. “Here you guys can take take a seat anywhere, doesn’t matter.” Matt added. All four took a seat in the front row.
“The babe again, Matt, nice going.” Luke remarked. “Shut up.” Matt simply said. They began playing one of their songs. Mimi was in Joe’s arm. They were cuddled there so close. Matt looked at them while he sang. How he wished he could be that close to Sora he said to himself. He then looked at her and smiled. She smiled back at him. How he loved her smile, her soft-spoken words, those eyes, he just wanted to sweep her off her feet and carry her away. He thought about all this to himself as he sang those sweet notes.
After the rehearsal Sora was getting up to leave when Matt came over. “Um, hi Sora.” Matt said stammering. “Hey Matt, great rehearsal.” Sora said smiling at him. He felt like he was going to melt. “Thanks, uh, I wanted to ask you something, do you, uh, wanna go on a date with me?” Sora was quite taken back by his question, but she did think he was kinda cute with him and his crystal blue eyes. What the heck, why not she said to herself.
Oh no, I’m gonna be rejected, she’s going to reject me, reject my question, I just know it, she probably doesn’t even like me the way I like her. Well here it comes, time for rejection. Matt thought miserably to himself.
“I would love too Matt Ishida.” Sora replied. “Wha- what did you say?” Matt asked wide-eyed. Did she just say what I thought she said? Matt shouted to himself. “I would love too, Matt Ishida, why is there something wrong?” Sora asked back. “Oh, no, no, that’s awesome, let’s say tomorrow at 7:30, how does that sound?” “Great, I’ll see you then, Bye Matt.” Sora walked out the door but glanced at him for a moment and smiled to herself.
“I have a date with Sora Takenouchi, yeah baby!” Matt shouted. “Keep it down Matt and congratulations, we’re all so happy for you.” Nicholas said. “Thanks, I know you all mean it.” Matt retorted.
The following day, 5:45, at Sora’s house…
“Wow Sora, I can’t believe your going on a date with Matt Ishida, thousands of girls would kill to go on a date with him, you’re a very lucky girl.” Mimi said excitedly. “I know, I was like so stunned when he asked me, but I said yes. There’s something about him that I couldn’t say no too, I guess. “ Sora said with a far off look. “You know, Izzy and Joe were right, he likes you and I bet I’m right too, you like him, don’t you, come on Sora spill.” “I guess I do, he’s cute and I love his eyes, and he does have a great personality.” Sora replied. “I knew it.” Mimi added. “Now let’s get done curling your hair and after you can put on your gorgeous dress.” Mimi also added in. “Right.” Sora agreed.
At Matt’s house…
“So Matt, you really like this girl huh?” Tai asked. “Yeah, Tai I really do and I don’t wanna screw it up on the first date.” Matt replied. “I know what you mean.” Tai added. “You, know what I mean, come on Tai you haven’t even gone on a date before, how could you possibly know what I mean.” Matt laughed. “Hey, I will someday you know.” Tai said. “7:15, I better get going, hey Tai, hand me my jacket, Thanks.” “Good luck man.” Tai shouted as Matt got in his car.
“Wow, Sora you look fab, you’re going to give him a heart attack.” Mimi said excitedly. Sora wore a white strapless long dress that had a long slit at the side. She had on a diamond necklace that her mom gave her and her hair was curled. She had on a little eye shadow, a bit of pink blush to add color to her cheeks and lip-gloss. (Stop drooling boys!! ^_~)
“Sora you look beautiful.” Sora’s mom exclaimed. “Thanks mom and more thanks to you Mimi, without you I couldn’t look this good.” “Stop Sora, stop, what are friends for.” Mimi said smiling. Just then there was a knock on the door. ‘That must be him.” Sora said nervously.
She went to open the door and there he was. “Hi Matt.” Sora said with a smile. “Wow, Sora you look, absolutely amazing.” Matt could hardly breathe at the sight of her. She was breathtaking. “You ready to go?” Matt asked. “Yeah, all set.” Sora replied. “Bye mom and Mimi!” Sora shouted. “Bye Sora, have a great time.” Said her mom. She walked out the door and Matt led her to his car.
Matt had made reservations at a fancy restaurant. They walked inside and were seated. “I was always wondering, how is life as a rock star, being chased by girls and all that?” Asked Sora. “Tiring but I love doing it.” Matt simply replied. “And one last question, why did you ask me on a date, I don’t mean to be so strait forward but it’s something I have to know?” “Because your different from most other girls. Your beautiful, intelligent, fascinating, you have a great personality and…” Matt was cut off. “Okay, you can stop now, but that was really sweet of you, Matt, I mean really sweet.” Sora smiled at him. Again Matt felt like he was going to melt.
They continued talking, they laughed, ate and laughed some more.
“I had a really great time Matt, probably one of the greatest times of my life. I’ll treasure it always.” Sora said. “I did too, Sora, maybe we could do this again some time?” Matt asked pleadingly. “I’ll sleep on it, Goodnight Matt Ishida.” She leaned over and kissed his cheek. “Goodnight Sora Takenouchi.” Matt whispered in her ear. Sora opened the door and walked in gently closing it behind her. Matt walked to his car saying to himself, “I’ll treasure this night always too.”
