Faye sat across from him in the booth that they occupied. She continued to study him. She just couldn't seem to take her eyes off of him. There had to be something wrong with her. She never acted this way towards any guy. Never. She couldn't even seem to think of anything to say to him. She always had a great opening line. That way the guys couldn't keep their minds off of her.
"I guess I should introduce myself since you did buy me a cup of coffee. I'm Faye, Faye Chamberline"
He nodded, "Damon Salvatore."
She smiled at him. "I'd like to thank you for your help with David, although I could of handled it myself."
"I'm sure that you could have, but I can never resist helping a beautiful woman," came his smooth reply.
"I guess that I can't fault you that." She leaned in closer to him. "You don't come here often, do you? If you did I'm sure that I would have met you sooner."
Damon nodded at her and gave her a breathtaking smile. " I travel a lot, and this time I just happened to stop in New York for some fun. It seems that I have made a good choice, no?"
Faye decided that she loved his voice. It was so sexy, and it brought chills all over her body. She liked it. She decided that she was going to have him. Hell, she had to have him. She ran the toe of her shoe up his leg and brought her foot to rest on his seat between his legs. "You sure did," she whispered in the voice that she knew drew guys wild.
"You're playing a dangerous game," he told her his voice never faltering.
She laughed, "I sure hope so." She leaned in even closer, "And if I told you that you could play with fire?"
"Then I would have to ask for the rules."
"There are no rules."
"Then that's my type of game," he whispered leaning closer to her.
"Damon," a female voice called out. Damon looked up, but Faye did not turn her head to see who it was. She already knew. She would never forget the voice of Stephanie Hollowell. Faye new her from the college. They ran in a lot of the same circles. Faye did not like her. It seemed to her that Stephanie was always trying to compete with her. Faye knew that the girl never had a chance. No one was better than she was. Faye was perfect.
Stephanie had walked over to the table. "Damon, sweetheart. I've been looking everywhere for you."
Faye raised a brow at Stephanie's comment. Damon just shrugged at her. Stephanie got into the boothe and sat as close to Damon as she could. She turned her eyes on Faye and smiled. Faye could see the anger in her eyes. "Hello, Faye. I did not know that you knew Damon."
"I don't really," Faye knew that she wanted to know why the two of them were sitting together. "He helped me get rid of a little problem, and he was even nice enough to buy me a cup of coffee."
"Yes, that was nice of him."
Faye watched Stephanie. She could tell that the girl wanted her to leave. She wanted to think of an excuse that would keep them together for the rest of the day. Linda and Kate walked through the door at that moment. "There you are Faye," Kate said as ther two of them walked up to the boothe.
Linda frowned at her. "You haven't eaten yet have you. We did make plans."
Faye saw the smile on Stephanie's face and she wanted to slap her. She shook her head standing up. "No, I haven't eaten yet. I've been waiting for the two of you just like I promised. Let's go."
Faye turned back and looked at Stephanie. "There's going to be a party at the house tonight, Steph. Why don't you come, and do bring your friend." She smiled and winked at Damon. She walked away hoping that they would show up at the party.
Once they were outside Kate turned to her. "Who was that god you were sitting with in there?"
"His name was Damon, and that is all that I know right know."
"What was he doing with Stephanie?" Linda asked.
"It seems that they are dating."
"Are you serious?"
Faye only nodded as she opened her car door. Her friends also opened a door and sat. "How did she catch a guy like that?"
"I honestly don't know."
Kate smiled at her friend. "So what are you planning?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I know you. I know that you can't stand Stephanie, so there has to be a reason why you invited her to the party."
"Maybe."
Linda frowned in the back seat. "You're not going to try to take that Damon guy away from her are you?"
"You know that I don't do relationships Linda."
Kate grinned wickedly, "But that does not stop you from stealing a night."
Faye said nothing, but she did not have to.
