Faye was alone in the room with Damon. The others seemed to have disappeared when the meeting was over. Faye kept her back to Damon. Damon walked up to her. He placed a hand on her shoulder. Faye stiffened, and moved away from him.
"Why do you avoid me, Faye?"
Faye turned around and looked at him. "Why should I let you anywhere near me? You have done nothing but cause me trouble lately."
"I had a reason for everything."
Faye raised a brow, "Oh, really."
"I was just trying to protect you."
Faye laughed. "I don't need your protection. I can take care of myself."
"I see that now." Damon tried to lay a hand on her shoulder.
Faye moved further away from him. "Even if I was just a mere human, I would not have needed your protection." A spark went off in her eyes. "I can take care of myself."
"I did not know you were a witch Faye. You never told me."
"And you never told me that you were a vampire."
"I did not want you to run from me."
"You expected me to run? I thought you knew me better than that. I would have never ran from you."
"I could have killed you."
"On purpose?"
"Of course not. My hunger could have taken control at anytime, I could have killed you without even knowing it."
"I would have willingly given you my blood, Damon. I would not have denied you that."
"Are you sure about that?"
"You being a vampire does not bother me. I am a witch and I had to live with the knowledge that people feared me and did not want to get close."
"Is that why you kept it a secret from me?"
"I guess so. Ever since I first got to New York I hid my powers, after a while it was as if I was almost human. In a way I forgot what I was, which was a mistake. You should never hide what you are. I understand why you kept who you are a secret, but I will never know or understand why you left me and never sent word."
" I told you that I was only trying to protect you."
"From what?"
"If they knew about you they would have went after you. I could not have the people we were following find out about you so I had to push you away from myself."
"That was a mistake. You pushed me away and now you expect me to come back to you."
"Is that too much to ask for?"
"Yes it is."
Damon took a step away from her. "So be it. I will wait for you to change your mind."
"Then I suggest that you hold your breath while you are waiting."
"It would do nothing. I still would not die, Faye."
"One can only dream."
Damon walked out of the room leaving Faye alone.
Well she thought she was alone.
