Michel pulled her away from the boy.
"You have to make the choice if you want to kill him or not."
A horrified look came across her face and she dug her head into Michel's chest and hugged him crying into his chest. He held her tightly.
"Hush, darling, you didn't. It's OK."
"But what if I had?" She asked him sadly and he stroked her long hair gently.
"If you had we could have just changed the boy." Michel said trying to reassure her.
She relaxed a little and stared up at him.
"But would Black Knight let us?" She asked and Michel nodded.
"I'm sure he would. We better get going back upstairs." Michel added as he noticed how Lestat was staring at them both.
Michel pulled away from her and stared at her,
"Are you OK?" He asked her and she nodded and started out of the room but only after saying,
"Good day Lestat."
"Good day, Mistress." He said softly.
She turned and smiled happily at him and than left. Lestat watched her go and than Michel nodded to him and followed her out of the door.
Michel hurried up to her, "Trying to get away from me?" He asked her and Shari blushed.
"No, I'm not rushing to get back to Black Knight either." She said confiding in Michel.
"Why is that?" Michel asked her gently.
"He scares me." She whispered softly.
"Why?" He asked placing a hand on her shoulder.
"He's so powerful. He could kill me with a word alone, Michel. I'm so afraid he'll lose interest in me and order me killed."
"He wouldn't do that. He truly loves you for if it was just infatuation, you would not have been made a vampire. He wants you to depend on him for the very air you breath but that's not who you are. Don't let him convince you that that is who you should be because you should only be yourself and nothing more and nothing less."
She smiled at him and hugged him tightly.
"Thanks Michel." She whispered and walked up to Black Knight with Michel on her heels.
"We have some guests, DarkDealer. Why don't you take Shari up to her room and than come back down here so we can take care of the situation."
Shari looked up at him.
"I don't want to go upstairs and I'm staying right here." Shari said and sat down on one of the chairs and crossed her legs and Black Knight closed his eyes.
"I said go."
She stood up and stared directly into his dark eyes.
"No. The only reason you would want me to go is because you are in danger or in danger of losing me. I hope it is the second and for that reason that I feel it is. I can feel my friends and I can feel my home. I will be going back to my home with my boyfriend, Josh, who I am sure you are familiar with." She said in a soft hypnotic voice that she didn't know could be used to hypnotize humans.
Black Knight reached out and back handed her and she crumpled to the ground like a broken doll.
"I said go."
She stared up at him in disgust with blood dripping from her nose. The nose was healed and had stopped bleeding but still the dried blood didn't look nice.
Black Knight crouched beside her. "Oh shit! I'm sorry! I just..."
She looked at him wet tears in her eyes and she stood up and started running up the stairs with Black Knight watching her from behind. Michel looked at Black Knight with disgust.
"How in the hell could you do that to her? You are such an asshole!" He said and started walking up the stairs in a fast pace.
"Don't go near my wife." He called out and Michel stopped and turned and looked at him.
"Maybe you should open your eyes and see that she is in need of comfort right now. Since, I'm certain even if you did offer it to her which you did not, she wouldn't want it."
Michel than turned and continued on his way up to her room only stopping on the third floor to see if she had gone to the room she had been preparing herself in yesterday and when he saw that she had not he went to her chambers.
Black Knight stared after Michel and felt disgusted with himself. It wasn't his fault he just wasn't used to being told no or having his orders not followed immediately. He would deal and even if forced to he would apologize to her. She deserved his apology he decided.
He felt as evil as he tried to be but had to worry about the intruders who had just entered the border to the town and would be near the castle within the hour. He had told his people to let her friends make it to the castle but he didn't want Shari to know what happened to them but now that he was thinking about it maybe he should keep one of Shari's little friends so she had company.
