Shock.
Now that's something that I didn't experience every day. Maybe I should give Julian a prize for being the first person(If you could actually call him that) that ever sent me into a state of shock.
And denial.
So here I was, Lilith DeAllure of the Seriana aka the Executioner, numbly sitting in my seat, denying that the last minute ago had just happened.
This is not good...Shadow Man + Seriana = Kick ass fighting. Not Shadow Man + Seriana = Kissing.
It was definitely not good. In fact, I was really starting to hate my mission.
It was wierd though. As much as I hated to admit it, I had wanted to kiss him. Had wanted to taste those lips, touch that soft mouth with my own...
TIME OUT!!!
I practically slapped myself for thinking those thoughts. Get a grip on yourself, I told myself tensely. He's a Shadow Man, you're Seriana. Not a very good combination to mix.
I sighed.
Just then Julian deicded to seat himself across from me.
Dammit.
I glowered slightly and made myself avoid his gaze. A blush crept up my neck...I could feel the heat of his gaze on me. My skin was very sensitive, his eyes traveling across me sent me shivering despite the fact that it was pretty warm inside the room.
I forced myself to start a conversation with anyone, anyone at all. Just so I could divert my attention from Julian.
Turning to my right, I said with a fake cheerful voice," Hello."
She had baby-fine blonde hair, a silky cap that framed her face. Violet eyes looked up at me. A Harman.
" Hi, you must be Lilith. Everyone's talking about you," She said with a large kind smile. For a minute I was caught off gaurd. Everyone I had met was either hostile, neutral, or just on business.
Despite myself, I smiled back," And you're Gillian Harman, right? Or is it Iliana?"
A giggle escaped her lips," On no, I'm not Iliana. My cousin's a Wild Power, she's in a safe house with the others. I'm Gillian"
Hm...in a safe house, eh?
Just then Thierry walked in.
In a black Versace suit, black tie, white dress shirt, pulling his soulmate's chair out for her: Ever the gentleman.
He glanced around us tersely. His expression, though blank like a mask, I could tell that he was tense.
Could it be that he knows...? I silently laughed to myself. I couldn't wait to see their faces when they find out that they're not only against the Night World and the dragons, but also against the Dark Court. May the gods help them.
I bit back a smile.
" Everybody...," Thierry started off. Amazingly, the noisy dining room fell silent in only a matter of seconds," We have a problem concerning our war with the Night World."
I looked around and saw faces shocked, angry, confused, and bewildered. So much for silence, I thought, as exclamations rang from around the room. Uh-oh, he's gonna drop the bomb on them.
" Shut up everybody!," Thierry yelled. He had the look of a weary old man.
It grew silent again.
That's when he did it. He told them.
" The Dark Court has united with the Night World "
I closed my eyes, cringing. I was prepared to duck underneath the table in case a fistfight broke out or something similar, deciding from my experience on my first confrontation with the Daybreakers. I awaited silently for the first comment that Thierry would recieve on this information.
" What's the Dark Court?"
Suprise suprise. I opened my eyes, biting my lip to keep from smiling. Of course, I had forgotten that the Daybreakers were ignorant of the ancient past that didn't inculde their own.
I glanced back at Thierry. He was somewhat relieved. Bet ya he's gonna hate explaining what the Dark Court is, I mused to myself. Oh well, I guess I'll help him out a little.
Want me to tell them?, I spoke to Thierry through a telepathic link.
He nodded.
With a wry grin, I started off," The Night Worlders and Hunter are little old ladies in rocking chairs compared to the Dark Court."
Someone giggled.
" How so?," Came Quinn's calm icy voice.
I slightly looked at him, then looked at at each person around the table...skipping Julian of course.
" The Dark Court -- they are demonic entities from the dark side of creation," I saw Ash giving me a what-the-hell-are-you-talking- about look, and smiled," Meaning that they're like the mafia, except with powers beyond your wildest dreams."
I saw Ash give me a little secretive smile full of silken sheets and beds lit by candles.
Smirking at him, I told him," Not those kind of dreams, Ash."
He grinned.
" Anyways," I turned back to face everybody," The Dark Court are also the enemies of the Seriana. Them and the Shadow Men," I only added the last comment to remind myself...and maybe to remind Julian too. Who knows? Maybe he got the wrong idea or something...
" Geez, it seems like the Seriana has everybody who hates them. Just exactly how many enemies do you have?," A bewildered Eric asked from one end of the table, with Thea seated beside him with an amused smile at his question.
" We only have two: The Shadow Men and the Dark Court," I replied with a small smile, then added," Unless you wanna add yourself on our hit list so we can make enlarge our population of enemies by one."
He grinned at me and shook his head," I don't think so."
I grinned back.
" The Dark Court lives in an entirely different dimension from your world. The Dark Court is led by a king and queen, sort of medieval...but that's the way the Dark Court is. They don't have a queen at this moment, but they do have a king. Their king is -- ," I started to say, but then Fate decided to stick it's nosy little head in, and intervened. Damn.
" Draco Raviede," Came a familiar voice from behind me that stopped me dead cold. Oh shit. Damn, why the hell did this have to happen now?! I slowly stood up from my chair and turned around to face him, expressionless and cold.
I heard commotion behind me from the Daybreakers, and motioned for them to stay in their seat and to shut up.
" Draco...," I whispered in a strained voice," What the hell are you doing here?"
