Part 8

A panther.

Stalking his prey, toying with him...then moving in for the kill.

That was how I percieved my stalker aka Draco.

He gave me a chilling smile, looking at me through eyes full of danger and deception. Not a sound was heard in the room, everyone was staring at Draco. To them, a stranger. To me, a viper in the sand, beautiful yet deadly.

" What does he want, Lilith?," Gillian quietly whispered below me, still seated. Her voice traveled across the large dining room, silence so thick that you could slice it with a knife.

I shook my head, unable to give an answer. Yeah, what the hell does he want, anyway?

He glanced at me, eyes full of secrets," Why I'am here...is only on business. But what I want...," He gave a low chuckle, and his eyes burned with desire as he looked at me. I fought the urge to throw an energy ball at him the same way I did to Julian.

Oh yeah, while this incident had occurred, I had forgotten about him.

I felt a shift in air pressure, felt the body heat of someone close to me warming my skin, and slightly turned to my right. Julian had apparated by my side. His eyes were blank, but I felt dangerous power radiating from him in violent waves. He wasn't neccessarily a very reassuring presence, being the guy I was avoiding and all...but he was a powerful ally never the less.

I turned back to Draco. His eyes glinted hazardously as he took in the sight of Julian standing beside me.

Out of knowing Draco will kick Julian's ass for standing so close to me and out of remembering why I was avoiding him, I stepped away from Julian, stepping closer to Draco.

Draco stared into my eyes, burning holes in my mind with his intent gaze.

I for one, was not impressed. The memory of him lying on my bed and almost succeeding of making me his slave was still fresh in my mind.

" Just state why you're here Draco, then get out," This was all- too similar to the scene the night before. The night he practically tricked me. Damn him.

A slow smile curved on his lips, and I heard a small gasp behind me coming from one of the females. Yes, I knew what they ment. Draco was drop-dead-gorgeous with his fiery golden colored eyes and raven dark hair, but he was the Lord of the Dark Court dammit! A major no no.

" I just came here to see how the Daybreakers were doing...," He answered me in a smooth voice full of supressed laughter. His eyes glimmered.

I narrowed my eyes," Don't give me that shit, Draco."

" If you insist...," He answered back with a serpentine smile," I came to inform you dear Daybreakers that the Night World has one of your Wild Powers as hostage."

Fuck.

Total hell broke loose.

Shouts and cries of outrage erupted. Witch fire flew past me, aimed at Draco. He stood his ground, unfazed by the fireballs, calm and observing the scene around him. I stood where I was, unable to believe that Draco really was playing along with the Night Worlder's little plots of winning the war between them and the Daybreakers that I was suppose to stop.

Another witch fire-ball flew at him, a hairsbreathe away from his head, and that was when I knew Draco lost control of his temper.

His golden eyes grew brighter, enflamed by rage. He roared an uncomprehendable word, to anybody from this dimension, that is. But to me, he roared a word, an embodied spell, in the tongue of the Old World.

Er`gresiv.

Be still or death shall easily come.

Immediently the war cries and cussing abruptly stopped.

I turned around, taking in the sight of Draco's spell.

Everybody was frozen.

A smile touched my lips, despite the circumstances. I turned back around.

Julian and I were the only ones untouched of the spell.

" Impressive," Julian said in an insanely pleasant tone. I gave him a puzzled glance, wondering what was going through his head at the moment.

Draco turned to face Julian, a smirk on his lips," If you say so."

" But I do...and so does Lilith. Isn' that right Lilith?," He said calmly in the same pleasant tone.

I gave him a terse glance," Please shut up Julian."

" Yes Julian, please shut up. Lilith and I need to have a little talk about the circumstances of the open spot on being queen of the Dark Court," Draco gave me a savage smile, not bothering to look at Julian. He probably expected Julian to just go away or something. Tsk-tsk.

I gave off a primitive growl at Draco's comment. Open spot my ass. Hell no, I was not going to have a little talk with him again.

" No, that's not possible Draco. Lilith is mine."

Excuse me???

Draco and I both froze, and turned to look Julian, both of us obviously caught off gaurd. Um...can someone explain to me what was going on?

" What did you say?," Draco said in a deadly voice, as what Julian said sunk in his mind.

" Lilith is mine," Julian repeated. Then added after an afterthought," So I suggest you leave us be."

I just stood there like a potato sack, transfixed by the insanely calm look in Julian's eyes, and the hazardous anger in Draco's.

I was caught between them, front row seats.

Damn, this boy was good. Julian had sent me into another state of shock.

I caught something growing in the air, almost suffocatingly. It had a tinge of bloodlust, violence...the Dark Court. I quickly looked at Draco.

Draco's eyes appeared hellish. His golden eyes were gone, replaced with trigger-happy ruby red eyes with a glint of madness dancing in them.

Oh shit.

My head slowly rotated, looking back at Julian.

This wasn't just fun and games anymore, Draco and Julian were willing to fight...to the death.
