Part 1

"Diana, you need to get out more." Doug leaned across the table with a suspiciously puppy-doggish look on his face.

"Yeah. You're like, eighteen going on forty." Chris added. She turned to him with a golden eyebrow arched.

He threw up his hands in defence. "In a good way, of course."

"How can there be a good way with a statement like that?" Laurel seemed fascinated by the way the conversation was turning.

"Don't encourage them, Laurel." Melanie glared at the twins before turning to Diana. "Actually, maybe you do need to go out and have some fun..."

"I am perfectly happy." Diana protested in her mild way.

"Yeah, sure. But, maybe you'd be more happy if you went out." Doug motioned for Chris to take over.

"And we know just the place!" Chris clapped his hands like a little kid.

"The rave Friday night!" Dough announced. Diana, in the process of drinking from her can of pop started choking and coughing it up in surprise.

Nick leaned over and clamly whacked her on the back so she lurched forward nearly planting her face in the half-finished salad she had been eating.

Doug and Chris looked fascinated as she thanked Nick in a hoarse voice.

"Whatever." Nick went back to eating and ignoring them all.

"So, was that a yes?" Doug asked trying to make his blue-green eyes larger in innocence.

"I think so!" Chris chimed in grinning madly.

"Definetly not." Diana speared another forkful of soggy lettuce.

"That was a yes." Melanie informed them.

"No." Diana glanced up and swallowed the lettuce at the site of all the wide grins aimed in her direction. "No!"

*******************************

"Here." Laurel tossed a pair of silver drawstring pants to Diana.

"I can't wear those!" Diana tossed them on her bed.

"Sure you can." Cassie grabbed them back up and shoved them into Diana's arms.

"I thought I said no to this, right?" Diana caught the little white tank top that got thrown at her head.

"Good choice, Melanie!" Laurel smiled at her before helping Melanie out of the closet.

"Go and put it on, Diana." Cassie shoved her towards the bathroom.

Diana sighed and slumped her shoulders in defeat as she closed the bathroom door behind her.

"I'm so glad she's going out to the rave with the twins." Laurel said sitting down beside Cassie on Diana's bed. "She really hasn't done anything but coven stuff and school. And that's never good."

"She doesn't really trust guys, but I don't think she does it purposely. That's pretty much against everything she stands for. It's sort of a reaction to uh, well..." Laurel trailed off with a glance to Cassie.

"Adam and my betrayals." Cassie finished flatly. She was not proud of those incidents under any circumstance. They shoudl have told Diana right at the beginning. She should have said something when Adam had shown up at that first coven meeting. Said that they had met before, or something to that affect.

"She forgave you for that, don't worry about it Cassie. Diana just has some inner issues that she needs to sort out for herself." Melanie sat down at Diana's desk and settled in.

"How does it look?" Diana stepped out of the bathroom then. "I feel weird about going tonight you guys...."

She shivered and looked out at the dark sky with a strange feeling assailing her. Something was going to happen tonight. She wasn't sure if it was a good something, or a bad something, but something was going to happen tonight.

The other girls looked at each other before pulling Diana's hair off her face and telling her to relax.
