Inside the AHRLI

• The AHRLI is a unique psychological case in that he honestly doesn't think anything is wrong with him, despite his very apparent psychological and emotional problems. He honestly believes that the world is on his side, and that everyone thinks exactly the way he does. He is, in essence, a racist, refusing to see beneath an exterior of a person, rather basing opinions of people and entire cultures on face value.
• I genuinely would not want to be on an AHRLIs bad side. Agression and little tolerance are this person's most apparent personality features. This person has frequent fantasies involving violence and murder. These people are, for the most part, unoriginal and oblivious to outside opinion, both about them and about world issues (especially anime).
• They out number their counterparts, the RHALIs, by nearly 10 to 1, though they have been decreasing in number. As anime fans become older, it seems that they grow out of childish things like AHRLIdom, but there are still very large amounts of AHRLIs out in the world, and it makes me very fearful, especially of the AHRLIs that can't (or don't want to) outgrow their destructive mindframe.

Treatment:
• I'd suggest many years of counseling and anger treatment. AHRLIs are usually sitting on a lot of rage, and it makes them keep it under control when they feel superior. The key to reversing the AHRLI disease is to make the patient realize that he or she is NOT actually the center of the world and that many other opinions exist. This has to be done with extreme caution however, for when an AHRLI snaps, all conscious thought is left behind and the rage is all that's left.
• Handle with extreme caution. AHRLIs are not bright at all, but don't underestimate them. If they can figure out that you're keeping sharp and dangerous objects away from him (or that you're even subjecting him to counseling at all), the fuse will be lit, and that fuse is extremely short.

Personal Opinion:
• The AHRLI problem is actually the problem with most of our population. People never learn how to vent their rage in an appropriate matter and they become very sad individuals. The problem seems insurmountable, but these people most be turned. They have been brought to the light before, and it can be done again.
• It is, however, important to know which people are worth counseling, however. Those who consider themselves leaders of AHRLIs are extremely loyal to their own kind and seemingly will never turn. Extremists are better off put in solitary confinement; if you try to counsel them, you'll only give them a target (yourself) at which to aim their violent anger.

Inside the RHALI

Analysis:
• The RHALI, as opposed to the AHRLI, does not think that everyone thinks like him. In fact, he is very angry at everyone else who is not RHALI. He suffers from an acute case of bottled rage. He feels trapped and extremely pissed off. The RHALI thinks that the world is against him, and he has a very difficult time trusting anyone, even his own kind. He often rants, endlessly, and it seems there is no half-way RHALI; either you are one to the end of time, or you're not a RHALI at all.
• RHALIs seem to have originated as a direct contrast to the AHRLIs; that is to say that if there were no AHRLIs, there probably wouldn't be any RHALIs either. RHALIs are a younger group than their counterparts, but they are always far more organized and vicious. Many times they preach against character bashing even when their own bashing is blatant, mainly to keep the AHRLIs away. They are immediately drawn to each other and are constantly looking for new recruits. A RHALI is rarely an AHRLI first, but it has been known to happen, though in extremely rare cases. Most times the casual fan fancies their object of fandom somewhat until they meet the huge AHRLI world. Then it is little time before they become so disgusted that they turn to fan boy idiocy themselves.
• As where AHRLIs are mostly idiots from the beginning, RHALIs are a lot more times drawn to idiocy. They are intelligent fans for years until something sets them off; then they turn completely fanatical and lose all memories of their lives as regular fans.
• It is truly sad.

Treatment:
• However tragic it is, it seems as though only electro-shock therapy or some other form of extreme treatment can turn RHALIs back into regular Tenchi fans. They need to be counseled strenuously to ignore AHRLIs, or they need to be deprived contact with AHRLIs altogether before there is any hope of a cure. Even after huge amounts of therapy and drugs, there have been cases where even the slightest AHRLI like comment (example: "I like Ryoko's hair more") can send them immediately back to their old ways.
• There has been one documented case where an AHRLI was turned into a regular Tenchi fan through counseling. Then, when he was let back into the regular world, he turned quite quickly into a RHALI after visiting various message boards. After even more counseling than before, he has yet to budge from his RHALI habits, and he is frequently overcome by rage and spite against everything. It seems he's worse off now than when he started. The subject prefers to be anonymous.
• Whatever sure treatment there is, it hasn't been found by medical or psychological science quite yet, but we in the medical community are always hopeful for a definite cure.

Personal Opinion:
• RHALIs scare me more than AHRLIs do for the one fact that they are surpisingly intelligent. They are extremely fanatical and overcome with rage and spite, but they posess far more intellectual ability in most cases than do many AHRLIs. Although AHRLIs are usually cast offs from the Ryoko fandom, RHALIs many times infiltrate their own fandom, posing as regular fans. They could be anywhere, yet when they are provoked, their colors shine true and bright.
• And it is most times an extremely violent sight.
• I hope more for a cure for the RHALI disease because they seem more dangerous, even though they are far fewer in number. It's like a dangerous cult. However, it seems as though the RHALI problem will stay strong until all AHRLIs are either cured totally or put out of their sight; and even then there is no way to be sure that even that huge accomplishment will extinguish this dangerous emotional ailment.
