01) NO SEXUALLY EXPLICIT FANFICTIONS/SHORT STORIES. (NO VISUALS!)
This is the main requirement for any fanfiction submitted. Kissing scenes and such are completely okay...just please, no graphic scenes.

02) NO EXPLICITLY FOUL LANGUAGE.
Now, I understand that sometimes you need to use a few choice words to get your point across...and that's perfectly alright. However, if practically ever other word is 'a choice word', then please don't submit the story. Now, please, DO NOT think we are judging, condemning, or attacking anyone...because I'm not. It's just what we'd prefer, because after all, WE are the ones reading them and scoring them.

03) THE FANFICTION/SHORT STORY HAS TO BE REVISED/EDITED TO AN EXTENT. WE WILL COUNT OFF FOR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR MISTAKES.
We really don't like to read stories where there's ten mistakes in every sentence, it makes it harder to read. Now, I'm not saying it has to be perfect, no one or nothing is perfect, but good spelling and grammar are big parts of what makes a good fanfiction/short story.

04) IT MUST BE AT LEAST REMOTELY CENTERED AROUND ONE OR MORE OF THE BACKSTREET BOYS, OR THE WHOLE GROUP.
It can contain other pop groups/singer, musicians, entertainers, movie stars, movie characters, etc., but one of the Backstreet Boys or the whole group must be the main character. In the future, we may accept fanfiction/short stories that are centered around other celebrities, but for now, we'll be sticking with BSB.

05) NO MORE THAN 5 NOMINATIONS FOR 1 FANFICTION/SHORT STORY (not counting Reader's Choice).
I mean, come on, we don't wanna see the same story in almost every category and possibly have to reread it over and over. It's a bit too redundant.

06) YOU MAY NOMINATE YOUR OWN FANFICTION/SHORT STORY OR SOMEONE ELSE'S, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE PERMISSION FROM THE AUTHOR.

07) AN AUTHOR CAN ONLY HAVE 1 NOMINATION IN EACH CATEGORY.

08) THE AWARDS SITE CODE MUST STAY ON YOUR SITE UNTIL VOTING ENDS AND THE WINNERS HAVE BEEN POSTED.
If one of the site banners isn't on your site on the splash, main, or story page, your fanfiction will be taken out of the running. Of course, if your story is hosted on a site that isn't yours, then this rule does not apply to you, but if you could get the person who runs the site your story is hosted on to put the banner with your story, that would definitely be a plus!

09) NO FANFICTIONS OR SHORT STORIES THAT BASH ANYONE AT ALL (i.e. Britney Spears, NSync, Willa Ford, LeighAnne Littrell, Kristin Richardson, etc.) WILL BE ACCEPTED. HOWEVER, HUMOR FANFICTIONS/SHORT STORIES ARE WELCOME, IN THE APPROPRIATE CATEGORIES.
Just because you may not like a certain celebrity, doesn't mean we don't like them either. Katie and I wouldn't wanna read a story bashing a celebrity we may like...it might affect the scoring.

10) SIGNING OUR GUESTBOOK IS DEFINITELY A BIG PLUS FOR YOU!
We love to read what everyone has to say, and if you sign the guestbook, it COULD help your chances.

11) IF YOUR STORY IS NOT ON YOUR SITE OR HOSTED ON A SITE, PLEASE SAY SO, AND EITHER KATIE OR I WILL POST IT ON ONE OF OUR SITES (with your consent).

12) PLEASE NO SLASH STORIES. We have nothing against that, but we'd rather not have those in the awards.
