CHAPTER HISTORY




The Lambda Psi Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., was established in 1980 by Brother Z. L. Grady, at the College of Charleston. This municipal chapter which consist of the College of Charleston, The Citadel, and Johnson and Wales, conducts and participates in many yearly community service projects which include: SATAP(Sigmas Against Teen-Age Pregnancy), Teen-Jams (Hosted by Z-93--a local radio station), tutoring, visiting the elderly, and random food, clothing, and toy drives. The chapter also works with the Cannon Street YMCA. The brothers of the chapter also participate in student organizations on campus.


To this day, Lambda Psi remains the ONLY organization on the College of Charleston campus to have a plot of land dedicated to itself. . . . as a great Quad once said, "There are many PRETENDERS who fear us but no CONTENDERS to equal our might because . . . . . .
