Got a call from James just the other dayHe told me to start packing, cause I'm on my waySeems I needed a suitcase, but Cowboy built his trainSeems we couldn't get to the attic ever againHe took one of the garages, and built his trains there He blocked the attic now,and couldn't pull the stairIt was a problem that just had begunI wondered if I'd see family, especially my sonNow Andrew has a girlfriend, and James took a wifeSeems I'm getting older as things change my lifeThe newlyweds are having a reception partyI wonder what they will think when they see meNow I have to get my suitcase, seems on back on the goI'm getting too old for this,as I must take things slow I can't wait to see them, those boys hold my heartI had to let them goso I could departNow when I left New JerseyI never wanted to return That state just isn't for me,as my money I did burnI sure didn't feel welcomed, nor could I call it home,I needed my space where I could rest or roamNow when I get to the party,I sure hope I get the chanceWith my precious sons I sure want to danceThey are my very heart and soul, and so close to me They are the best I know, cause I raised them you see. ©Alice E.
