Too Old

Got a call from James just the other day
He told me to start packing,
cause I'm on my way
Seems I needed a suitcase,
but Cowboy built his train
Seems we couldn't get to the attic ever again
He took one of the garages,
and built his trains there
He blocked the attic now,
and couldn't pull the stair
It was a problem that just had begun
I wondered if I'd see family,
especially my son
Now Andrew has a girlfriend,
and James took a wife

Seems I'm getting older as things change my life
The newlyweds are having a reception party
I wonder what they will think when they see me
Now I have to get my suitcase,
seems on back on the go
I'm getting too old for this,
as I must take things slow I can't wait to see them,
those boys hold my heart
I had to let them go
so I could depart

Now when I left New Jersey
I never wanted to return
That state just isn't for me,
as my money I did burn
I sure didn't feel welcomed,
nor could I call it home,
I needed my space where I could rest or roam
Now when I get to the party,
I sure hope I get the chance
With my precious sons I sure want to dance
They are my very heart and soul,
and so close to me
They are the best I know,
cause I raised them you see.
