Snakes !!!

A Night snake taking a crack at eating a Banded sand snake.Picture taken at South Mountain Park Phoenix , Arizona.
From the time I stepped off the plane in Phoenix at the age of 10 , I was ready to start looking for all of these snakes that I had seen in movies and books about Arizona. Twentythree years later I have travelled all over the United States and into Mexico looking for new specimens . Tom Brennan and myself have tried to capture on film many of these specimens . Although we know we share an uncommon liking for reptiles in general; we ask that you look over these pages , learn more about snakes , and give em a chance to crawl on! Snakes are "indicator species " meaning that their presence shows for a healthy ecosystem. Without them , the system goes into major disruption with rodents overeating food sources , spreading disese and pestilence .Please visit the encounters section to learn more about proper handling of your next snake encounter.
