The next three items all came to me from one collection. All three feature Confederate States President Jefferson Davis and are in superior condition. They all seem to be from the Georgia State Fair of 1887, which was the last public appearance of CSA President Jefferson Davis before he died.
(Incredible UCV medal) - Jefferson, (bust), Davis / A Memento of the Reunion of Confederate Veterans at the Georgia State Fair, Oct. 26, 1887 (within wreath) - round, copper, GEM uncirculated, with incredible chocolate brown surfaces. Best condition UCV item I have seen BY FAR! This is a total gem of a piece in superb condition.
(Nice UCV medal) - Jefferson Davis, Ex President, (bust), CSA 1861-65 / Re-Union of Confederate Veterans, Macon, Ga., Oct. 26, 1887 (within wreath) - round, white metal, very nice au-unc, unholed.
(Jefferson Davis medallette) - Jefferson, (bust), Davis / Souvenir (within wreath) - round, brass, au-unc, holed at 12 o’clock. Obverse is very similar to two of the above pieces. This one was probably a lapel piece sold at the 1887 Macon state fair.
(Souvenir medalet) - Charleston, S.C., (palmetto tree), West Indian Exposition, 1901-1902 / (building), Cotton Palace - round, small brass piece with hole at top as made, vf.
(Souvenir medallion) - South Carolina Interstate and West Indian Exposition, (seated female figure), Charleston, S.C., 1901-02 / Gold Medal Awarded to Lane Mfg. Co., Montpelier, Vt.............. - round, brass, uncirculated, contemporary replica in smaller size of the medal awarded to said company. The company distributed these at the expo as advertising pieces.
