Moving on

John is now a very active 2 year old little boy! We celebrated 2 years of life with the little boy that I didn't want.

I can't imagine my life without my son. He brings me daily joy. I still get so excited to see him everyday when I pick him up from daycare. I am so proud of what he has accomplished in his short little life. We were told he would have speech issues. The only issue he has is he never stops talking. We were told that he would that teeth issues. That his two front teeth most likely wouldn't be there. He proved them wrong there too. For just a few day ago his last tooth popped through on the top.

If you have a child with a cleft or know someone who does, know that your child was chosen, not afflicted. For your child will teach you things that you never thought you would need to know. You will catch yourself looking at other children that are not cleft affected and try to figure out what is 'wrong' with them. Your child will teach others how wonderful someone with a "disability" can be. Your child will shine, just like mine!
