Fans Remember Aaliyah

I can't believe that Aaliyah's voice is silenced (see "Aaliyah Killed In Plane Crash"). She was such a wonderful person, a talented artist and actress, and truly one of a kind. My sincerest apologies and thoughts go out to her friends, her family, and the legacy she left behind.

When I first heard the news, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I started crying and telling myself that it couldn't be true that such a talented, beautiful young woman could be dead. I was online and started asking all my friends if they knew, and most did. I found that most were crying along with me. Every time I turn on the TV or radio, I hear about her death and it's been driving me insane. I would do anything to bring her back, but I can't. I hope that there will be something to go to for her fans to pay their last respects. We will always remember her and she will always be in our hearts. We pray for you and we miss you, Aaliyah. Your life had just begun when it was taken away.

Aaliyah was like my heart and soul. She was all I listened to. I couldn't imagine going a day without her, and now she's gone. I saw people talking about it, but I didn't believe it; I couldn't. How in the world could this happen? What went wrong? The second I saw the article, I began to cry, and I'm crying right now. I feel like a part of me is gone. Life will never be the same. Now I truly know what they mean when they say you're here one minute and gone the next. I won't miss her, because I feel like she's always with me. I just wish I could've met her, touched her, or even seen her in concert. I'll always love you, Aaliyah.

I think the most devastating thing about Aaliyah's death is that she was not ready to go. Anyone who saw MTV's "Diary" remembers how grateful Aaliyah was for the life she had. She was happy with her profession and her friends, and said herself that she "wouldn't trade it for the world." Aaliyah was one of today's only young stars who couldn't complain about fame. I also feel for her stylist, Eric Foreman, who also died in the crash. He had amazing character.

I am heartbroken. Aaliyah's music transcended boundaries. I grew to listen to and love her music after hearing what a Nine Inch Nails fan she was. From there I grew to really admire her. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. I will pray for her family, and for all those killed.

Just recently watching the "Diary" of Aaliyah, I found myself becoming a bigger fan. Today while watching MTV the biggest devastation came about. My stomach dropped and I was in shock, thinking to myself, "she didn't deserve this." You could tell she was genuine and passionate towards her work, family, fans, etc. To have something like this happen is a horrible thing. My sympathy goes out to her all of her family.

Not just young people mourn Aaliyah. I am a grandmother of five and a big fan. When I heard the news, I cried. She was a bright star whose light will shine on, even though she has gone on to a better place. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

Aaliyah was one of the few artists out there that made music that was alive, music that had a heartbeat. A song of hers that makes me go "Wow!" is "At Your Best (You Are Love)." It's amazing to me how a 15-year-old belted out that song with such a strong voice, in such a lovely way. She sounds like an angel on that track and now she's an angel in heaven.
I want to give out my condolences to her family and the families of all of those who perished in the crash. Let's keep her memory alive through her music. Aaliyah, thanks for leaving us your amazing music and the memory of your beautiful smile that said what a sweet person you were. Rest in peace, Baby Girl.

I spent half of my life listening to Aaliyah. I know she doesn't know me and I'm not a family member or a close friend, but she has touched my life in a great way. In her I saw everything I wanted to be. She was such a sweet and kind-hearted person who put her fans before anything and always gave thanks to them and God. She's made such a positive impact on my life, and I thank her for that. I'm going to miss her and I send my heart out to her loved ones.
