THE GP 9's
THE GP 9's
Originally, GP9s had high short and long hoods to run long hood forward. The CN GP9RMs in service today have been rebuilt from these older GP9s by reducing the nose height to give visibility from the cab. They now usually run short nose forward.

This GP9rm is the trailing unit in a consist rushing through a spring snow squall Apr 2/05 at 9:07 am. It was the mother to slug 242 in this consist. It was originally built as GP9 4258 in 1958 then was rebuilt as 7250 in 1990. Go to my VIDEO page for a mini video of this train.
