SC 801: Appeared in 1940 as new state routing, running between SC 8 below Easly and SC 86 west of Piedmont (about where I-85 and SC 86 meet today).
In 1948, SC 801 was renumbered as part of today's SC 86. |

Creation: Opened as new state route in 1941 or 1942. Originally ran from SC 285 (current US 21) north to Wilkins.
| Adjustments: Between 1980-85, SC 802 was extended south over a new road and Beaufort River Bridge to the Port Royal area, and replaced the lower half of SC 281 to SC 170. Improvements: Fully paved when opened; multilaned in the Port Royal area. Comment: SC 802 today allows travelers from I-95 south to reach the US 21 resort areas without going through Beaufort.

SC 803: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new routing. Ran from SC 285 (current US 21 Business) just east of Beaufort south to Gibbs Island, ending about where US 21 Byp/SC 802 pass through today.
In 1948, the 1.5 miles of SC 803 were downgraded to S-7-36. |

SC 804: Appeared in 1941 or 1942 as new primary routing. Ran from SC 917 (curren S-26-23) east to Pleasant View, then east to US 701 (current SC 410) near Bayboro, a total of 10 miles.
In 1948, SC 804 was downgraded. Part of SC 804 became SC 917, but the remainder became S-26-19 and S-26-34. |
