Thumbnails

What is a thumbnail? - A thumbnail is a miniature version of a larger picture that is used on a website to save loading time.

Starting off with a LARGE Picture!

2.  When you click on the picture, you should see the picture editing toolbar pop up at the bottom of the screen:

3.  On this toolbar, you will click the Auto-Thumbnail button:

4.  Then you need to save.

  • What happens is, Frontpage needs 2 copies of your image.
  • One is the LARGE version, and the other is the _small one.

  • Basically, the program HYPERLINKS the small image to the large one!

The picture I used is named Kashmir, the 2 file names will look like :

Kashmir

Kashmir_small

** hint... to change the border around the picture, go to the  Picture Borders page
