Responses to the Exhibition
To the Jews of Struggle Dear friends: It is a very special feeling to know that the exhibition The Jews of Struggle is to be open in Tel Aviv tomorrow to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the process of which you were an active part. I wish the exhibition to be a success and believe that it will service its purpose both in Israel and other countries in better understanding of the movement, its history and people. With my best wishes and regards to you and your families, P. Tsimberov ____________________________________________________________________
From: Pam Cohen The exhibition, Jews of Struggle, at the Beth Hatefutsoth Museum is nothing less that a colossal breakthrough in the creation of a public record of the history of the Jewish emigration and Jewish national movement in the Soviet Union and a massive contribution to the record of Jewish history. This exhibit is a testimony to the importance of the Remember and Save archives. Kol Hakavod! Pamela Cohen ______________________________________________________________
From: Baruch Ainbinder Dear Aba: As you suggested in our telephone talk I am writing in English. I want to tell you and the rest of the organizers my appreciation of the exhibition. We had not been acquainted before you began not so long ago to collect material and I did not suppose that for such short time you would get so much and so various staff. The labor of selection and arrangement also deserves praise. It was impossible to see everything on the day of opening – too big a crowd looking at the displays and too many friends to meet and talk. But I surely shall come again, this time only for seeing and will bring my sons and granddaughter to learn. I hope that many other Israelis will come, see and learn.
Best regards.
From: Etka Liebowitz Dear Aba, Shalom! The exhibition and opening was wonderful! I can see that you all put a lot of work into it. It was also wonderful seeing many activist friends, both from Israel and the USSR. Etka |
