Born in 1904 in Pereslavl, Ukraine, he was arrested on charges of Zionist activities in 1947. Sentenced to imprisonment in the Gulag, but after 6.5 years, he was rearrested while still in the camp and sentenced this time, to an additional 20 years in the Gulag, plus exile. Released in 1955, he succeeded in leaving the USSR for Israel in 1972. He died in 1990.

Born in 1908 in Ayaragula, Lithuania, he was a member of the Zionist organization “HaPoel HaTzair” from 1928 till 1940 and worked for the right to emigrate to Eretz Israel and for Jewish national revival. In 1947 he attempted to cross the Polish border in his quest to reach Eretz Israel but was caught, together with his comrades, and sentenced to 25 years in the Gulag. Released in 1958, he succeeded in emigrating to Israel in 1964. He died in 1991.

Born in 1914 in Komrana, Poland, he organized the illegal transfer of Jews from Poland to Eretz Israel under the instructions of the underground group “Janek” between 1945 and 1947. In 1947 he was arrested and imprisoned for 2 years in Bitam-Katovitse. Released, thanks to the efforts of the Ambassador of Israel in Poland, and allowed to go to Israel in 1950.

Born in 1923 in Riga, Latvia, he was an activist from the age of 15 in the young halutzniks movement «HaNoar HaAgudati», a branch of the "Poalei Agudat Israel" party. ("Agudat Israel" - an international Zionist organization of orthodox Jews). He worked for the branch in his home city until the Soviet occupation. In 1940-41 he worked in the underground and spent the years 1941-45 in the Riga ghetto and in German concentration camps. In 1947 he was has arrested by the authorities on charges of his earlier Zionist activities and also for his attempt in 1946 to leave the Soviet Union illegally in order to get to Eretz Israel. He was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in the Gulag plus 2 years exile. Released in 1953, he didn’t succeed in reaching Israel till 1969. He was a member of the Executive Committee and High Council of the Organization of Prisoners of Zion. He died in 1993.

Born in 1928 in Lithuania, he became a member of «HaShomer HaTzair» during his childhood. In 1947 he was arrested and charged with the intention of leaving the Soviet Union illegally. Sentenced to 7 years in high security camps, his sentence was served in the Ortlag labor camp from which he was released in 1954. Despite this he was not allowed to leave the USSR for Israel until 1973. He died in 1988.

Born in 1918 in Lithuania, he was an active member of the organization «HaShomer HaTzair». Arrested in 1947, he was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment in the Gulag. Released in 1955, he came to Israel in 1971.

Born in 1909 in Riga, Latvia, he tried to escape from the Soviet Union for Eretz Israel in 1947, but was arrested and sentenced to 9 years imprisonment in the Gulag. Released in 1956, he came to Israel in 1963. He died in 1984.

Born in 1921 in Daugavpils, Latvia, he was the secretary of the Zionist youth movement "Folksheim" from 1935 to 1940. After the Soviet occupation he went underground and continued his activities even after WWII. Arrested in 1947 on charges of Zionist activities and the organization of helping Jews from the Soviet Union to escape to Eretz Israel. Sentenced by the tribunal of the MVD (Ministry of Internal Affairs) to 10 years imprisonment plus 5 years in exile, he served his time in Omsk and in Karaganda. Released in 1955 he still had to wait till 1990 to get to Israel.

Born in 1911 in Rezekne, Latvia, he was a member of “Beitar” from his youth and up to the beginning of WWII and was also a member of the «General Zionists» party. In 1947 he was arrested on charges of Zionist activity and sentenced to 4 years imprisonment in the Gulag. He was released in 1951, and, eventually got to Israel in 1966. He died in 1980.

Born on Dec. 25-th, 1923, in Kaunas, Lithuania, he was an active member of the organization «Zionist Youth» in this city from an early age and up to the beginning of WWII. Mobilized into the Red Army at the beginning of the war, he continued his activities underground, helping with the illegal crossing of the Polish border and aliyah to Eretz Israel. Arrested in 1947 by the organs of MGB (predecessor of KGB) on the charges of subversive Zionist activities, he was sentenced by OSO (a special MGB board) to 8 years hard labour plus 2 years in exile. His sentence was served in Gorlag, near Norilsk. Released in 1957 he was free to leave for Israel in the same year.

Born on November 4th, 1918, in Kaunas, Lithuania, he was a member of «HaShomer HaTzair» till 1934. When studying at the university from 1935 till 1941 he was an activist in the "Beitar" movement, engaged in Zionist propaganda in Jewish youth circles. In 1947 he tried to cross the border with Poland but was arrested by the MGB organs and sentenced by OSO to 8 years of imprisonment in the Gulag. His sentence was served in Salekhard and in Tyumen. Released in 1951, he still had a 20 year wait for permission to go to Israel which he reached in 1971.

Born in 1924 in Kaunas, Lithuania, he became a member of “HaMaapilim" («Daredevils ascending to Zion») at an early age. During WWII he was sent to Dachau from the ghetto in Kaunas. In 1947 he was arrested by the MGB in Berlin on the charge of subversive Zionist activity and connections with the Jewish Agency (HaSokhnut HaYehudit), whose goal was the encouragement and financing help in smuggling Jews to Eretz Israel. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the Gulag. Released in 1955, after 8.5 years of imprisonment, he got permission to go to Israel in 1961.

Born in 1923 in the town of Orlov, Poland, she was arrested in 1947, together with her husband Yeshayahu, on charges of attempting to escape from the USSR for Eretz Israel through Poland. Sentenced to 5 years in the Gulag and while still in the Lukishki jail in Vilnius gave birth to her daughter. Served her sentence in Svivdlag. Released in 1952, she got to Israel with her daughter and husband in 1959.

Born 1918 in Tarsikaj, Lithuania, he was an activist in the religious Zionist movement «HaShomer HaDati» from his early youth until 1939. In 1947 he tried to escape from the USSR for Eretz Israel through Poland, but was arrested and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in labor camps. After his release, he worked as a veterinary doctor. His wife was also arrested and their daughter was born in a prison in Vilnius. They came to Israel in 1959 and he was a member of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Prisoners of Zion. He died in 1979.

Born in 1921 in Zuslaj, Lithuania, he became a member of «HaShomer HaTzair» at an early age. In an attempt to escape from the Soviet Union to Poland in order from there to reach Eretz Israel, he was arrested and sentenced to 7 years in the Gulag plus 3 years in exile. Released in 1957, he persistently continued the struggle for the right to emigrate to Israel but dream came true only in 1972. He died in 1979.

Born in 1922 in Lithuania, she was arrested in 1947, charged with Zionist activity and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment in labor camps. 6 years of her sentence were spent in the camps of Kolyma. Released in 1953, but only in 1970 did she manage to get to Israel.
