After the war there wasn't very many ways to make a living. Pretty much the only job was to grow rice and corn. When Eli Whitney invented the cotton " gin " cotton was a lot more popular to grow. After the war we elected George Washington as our president. We maid our own laws and paid our own taxes to our own state. Our state was so happy that we weren't ruled by Great Britin. |
