Forts
The Charleston forts they had in world war 2 were Fort Sumter, Fort Piggens. Fort Piggens is right by Fort Sumter. Fort Sumter was the first fort built in the Charleston Harbor. Fort Sumter had the first shot fired on April 12 1861. The Confederates tried to take over Fort Sumter by attacking us with ship with cannons on them but they didn't succeed Because our fort was built out of Palmetto trees and the wood was so soft that the cannon balls just soked in to the fort like the fort was a sponge.
