Civil Rights
Their were a lot of things that happened during this time period that were just swept under the rug and weren't ever talked about. Women were treated very badly in this period of time. Their husbands would mistreat them and hurt them. Back then men felt that a women's place was in the kitchen. Not a lot of women agreed with this but some did. Another civil rights movement that went on was African American rights. This movement carried on through the 1960's and 70's. Black people were treated like dirt during this time period. They would struggle on for many years before they would get equal rights.
