« Class Relief Activities »

By Megan Langelier and Deanna Mitchell

One of the questions about the tragedy on Tuesday September 11, 2001 is “What can we do to help”? Many activities have been planned around Quabbin. Senior class advisor Mrs. Ryding says seniors are collecting in the lunches and in homerooms, to be donated to the American Red Cross. The other classes have no specific plans at this time, although Mr. Castriotta says the sophomores will have a class meeting on this soon. Mr. Maga, Dean of Students, has been trying to contact the Red Cross to find any information on what Quabbin can do to help. In a recent interview he stated, “we are not doing a blood drive yet, but we’re still on the list”. Mr. Maga also told The Resevior that there are “district wide funds” that will help the in the process of recovering from this awful tragedy.

Even though not all classes are doing something to help yet, you can still show respect, and admiration to those who died, and who are helping in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. Show your patriotism by putting up an American Flag somewhere, outside your house, or on your car. You can pray for the many lives lost and pray for this tragedy to end, so we Americans can start to rebuild our world and our lives.
