1. Keys for pious relations The Book of Ruth is replete with principles relating to justice and piety in human relations. Ruth offers us a supreme example of someone who puts priority on personal relationships. She exemplifies loyalty, obedience, diligence and moral rectitude. We can save ourselves much sorrow if we learn to relate with others on the basis of love, and understand what this involves for our ties with other people.	1:10 Don't make commitments under pressure. Wait until you know all the implications of an obligation before you contract with another person. 1:16 Practice loyalty, and understand that a loyal person places his personal relationships above advantages and conveniences. Don't take back an obligation that you have made to a friend, even if it represents some personal sacrifices on your part. 2:2 Learn to serve. Know that GOD calls us to serve those whom we love. Believe that GOD will honor those who have a humble heart.
2. Instructions for growing in faith Hospitality entails being friendly and generous with strangers. The majority of people treat their friends well, but pious believers treat strangers as friends.	2:8 Practice hospitality with strangers. Don't be reluctant to bless those with whom you aren't familiar. Know that GOD recompenses and honors unselfishness.
3. Keys for relations with those who have authority Relating correctly with authority is a characteristic of believers. Loyalty and obedience are a key to such an attitude in the face of authority.	3:15 Obey the legitimate authorities. Believe that GOD will bless such an attitude in unexpected ways.
