How do we fit in?
Our title states that we are a support project, but we are much more than this. Yes, we are a charitable organisation working within the VOLUNTARY SECTOR and we are also a private limited company (a non-profit business). This doesn't mean were a collection of odd people, not employable by the private or public sector. Far from it, we see ourselves as a group of very responsible professionals working towards providing vital care/health services for the Wolverhampton community.
At the Project we have a dedicated team who are passionate about what they do. We are constantly involved with the community either directly or through other organisations. You will see examples of this further on in the newsletter. We provide an invaluable service to people who need to gain work experience, in an office environment and through the New Deal Scheme. We also invite volunteers who wish to give some of their time to charity.
Your probably wondering how we fit into the local hospital (that's New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton) well here's an important diagram: -
The flow chart shows that we link directly into the Haematology Department at New Cross Hospital, through which we have developed further links. The arrows show the flow of your blood test results where there is an indication or request for haemoglobin testing. Haemoglobin is the red stuff that gives your blood its colour. I could have shown links to outside organisations such as Social Services, Local Authority, other voluntary organisations and the most important our Wolverhampton community, but the flowchart would be too big for this page.
