Background:
In the Cataclysm, Jemina's town, a village in Istar, was completely flooded over. Many were drowned and others starved to death upon the roofs of their houses in a vain wait for rescue. Jemina was fortunate to be picked up by a ship while she was floundering. While the ship was eventually smashed to pieces by the storm that arose, Jemina and one other was saved in a large ceremonial caldron the ship had previously been carrying to delivar to Istar. They reached shore, but from thirst and hungry did Jemina faint. That is when Mallenroh came upon her.

When Mallenroh offered her help, Jemina gladly accepted it. Having grown up in her village, Jemina did not have the skills nor knowledge to survive in the wilderness where she had beached. Thus Jemina and Mallenroh traveled together, Mallenroh teaching Jemina about life in this land. They are still on this journey when Chandra meets them in her quest.
