[Snakes on a Plane]
Plot: On board a flight over the Pacific Ocean, an assassin, bent on killing a passenger who's a witness in protective custody, lets loose a crate full of deadly snakes.

Cast: Samuel L. Jackson, Byron Lawson, Flex Alexander, Adam Behr, Rachel Blanchard, Taylor Kitsch, David Koechner, Crystal Lowe, Sunny Mabrey, Julianna Margulies, Elsa Pataky, Nathan Phillips, Lin Shaye, Kenan Thompson.

My Thoughts:Best Muthafuckin horror movie of the Muthafuckin summer!

Review:You would think a movie with such a simplistic title would be just one big trainwreck waiting to happen, but in all honesty...I had more fun watching "Snakes on a Plane" than I did "Silent Hill" back in April. "Snakes on a Plane" brings back everything we love about horror movies, the well-placed (key word being well-placed) jump scares, the kooky characters we love to love or love to hate, and of course a situation that you fear for the characters survival in. It takes all of that, adds in one bad ass Muthafucka in Samuel L. Jackson, some really pissed off snakes, and throws it all up onto the screen. What follows is one hell of a ride. "Snakes On a Plane" follows a simplistic plot. A surfer guy named Sean witnesses the brutal murder of a criminal prosecutor at the hands of an asian mob boss named Eddie Kim. (Trust me, this is a really brutal scene, even the people at the theater were squirming during the duration). He makes the mistake of riding his motorbike away from trouble which of course draws the attention of Kim's thugs who fire on Sean as he drives away. Kim knowing what Sean has seen immediately puts a hit out on the kid, and that's when *the man himself* Samuel L. Jackson steps in. Jackson plays agent Neville Flynn, who after convincing Sean to testify in L.A. against Kim, is charged with the task of guarding him on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles. All is well until a nefarious plot begins to unravel...in an attempt to kill Sean before he reaches L.A....Eddie Kim has had someone fill the plane with deadly venomous snakes! "Snakes on a Plane" does alot of things right but what it does the best is not waiting around before it kicks into high gear. At the beginning of the flight, we're introduced to a cast of characters which range from a self-absorbed rapper (Flex Alexander) and his two man *entourage*..one of which is played by Kenan Thompson. A blonde with a little chihuahua (guess who this is supposed to be parodying), played by Rachel Blanchard, and a really pissed off british guy. Julianna Margulies and Sunny Mabrey play flight attendants along with Lin Shaye (2001 Maniacs). The dialogue and hidden jokes work really well during the films first 20 minutes as each of the characters interact with each other resulting in some very humorous moments in the film. Ellis does a great job of keeping things moving at a fast pace and making the comedic moments really sharp. He also does a great job of keeping the audience on the edge of their seats and anxiously awaiting the band of snakes which have been stowed away in the cargo hold. When the snakes finally do break free, things kick into high gear. Which is really where this movie shines so much. Unlike alot of other films when the creature, demon, or whatever escapes and what follows is a flat and uninteresting sequence of events..."Snakes on a Plane" really does a great job of upping the antie, and holding the viewers attention and not letting go until the very end. The snakes themselves are CGI but except for a few scenes, you can barely tell. With all that was happening in the film, I forgot on many occasions I was watching CGI snakes on a movie screen. The attacks themselves are hilarious and painful to watch. People get bitten in the most unexpected places, and I was wondering before the film started how this movie earned an R rating. After it was all over it was pretty obvious. We have snakes biting people in some pretty painful areas, snakes crawling out of peoples eye sockets, biting people in the mouth and eyes. The movie itself is low on blood and gore, but the sheer brutality of the snake attacks is what gives it it's bite..pardon the pun. The snakes are really the stars of this movie other than Samuel L. Jackson, and they're really pissed off! Now I was wondering how in this movie they'd explain the ferocity of the snakes, but there's a pretty good reason implemented as to why the snakes are so attack minded which I won't spoil for you here. In all honesty, "SOAP" puts movies like "Anaconda" to shame, atleast in my view. It was more fun for me to watch these characters work together to deal with this threat, and watching a bunch of smaller snakes attack people was alot more entertaining than one big snake attacking people. "Snakes on a Plane" also holds a few other pleasant surprises, with a subplot taking place on the ground where the FBI is trying to track down the person who supplied Eddie Kim with the snakes, and a doctor who is called in to lay some snake education on agent Flynn so he can better handle the really f'ked up situation him and the others are in. While the snakes on the plane were the main focus of the film, it was refreshing to have some crucial events happening on the ground as well, and then tie it all in at the end of the movie for a pretty good climax. "Snakes on a Plane" is a fun, fast, and thrilling ride. You might enjoy this movie more than I did or less than I did. Either way, you will enjoy it. It's that good.

Pros:Good acting by all involved, Jackson, Phillips, and Margulies best of all. Great dialogue, great snake action, and a very solid story. The FX were awesome as well.

Cons: Sam's *big line* that people probably paid just to hear him say came at the wrong point in the film. Therefore, it really wasn't as impactful as it should've been. It still worked on some levels though.

Overall:Definitely worth your money.
