House of 1000 Corpses (2003)

"It's all true. The boogeyman is real. And you've found him." -Otis

House of 1000 Corpses is a pretty disturbing movie. It really cuts to the bone and shows hardcore violence. It starts out with two robbers being shot in a little gas station/bbq place in the woods. Then we meet 4 teens who are on a road trip on the eve of Halloween. They stop by this gas station/bbq and go into the Museum of Madmen, owned by Captain Spaulding and they ride the "Murder Ride" and learn of the legend of Dr. Satan.

Then they're back on their way, when they pick up a hitchiker in the rain. A person hiding alongside the road blows out their tire, and the hitchiker offers them to come stay at her house until her brother can fix the car. The gang meets up there, and also meets Baby's crazy family, who ends up putting on an entertainment show for them. As they try to leave, they are attacked and taken back into the house where they endure torture and watching their eachother get killed.

Meanwhile the cops are after the family, and on Halloween the fam dresses up the only survivors, Denise and Jerry, into bunny costumes and lower them into an underground cavern. Mary escapes, but is soon killed after Baby attacks her and virtually stabs her to death while chanting a children's story about the "little bunny rabbit".

Ok, I won't say anymore, but this movie is pretty whacked. I mean, Jesus, seeing skinned bodies and lobotomys is pretty twisted. Zombie keeps the gore level here very high. It's good, but weird, but what can you expect from Rob Zombie? Overall the movie delivers some good scares and gore, which is a little over the top at times, but all us horror fans don't mind a little gore here and there!
