Featherdrake

After a brisk climb up a mountian (*pant, pant*) you reach the cavern you saw from far off. The entrance is hlaf an oval, with intricate engravings of vines along the sides and top. You walk in and look around. There's a hole in the roof which shines light down. To your right is a fireplace which has wood in it, but is not lit. 'Too hot,' you think. The cavern is large and would be nice for flying creatures. There are little - what look like - shelves all over the wlls for things to sit on. Unless they had a pair of wings, you wouldn't be sure how they got up there.

"Ahem." You look over to your left and see a young woman standing in a rock doorway. Beyond it, you can see a bed and further, a kitchen. There is also a door which you guess goes to the pool for bathing.

"Greetings, traveler," she says. Her voice is full and throaty. Her brown hair is in a braide and you can see green streaks in it. Her sharp blue eyes take you in quickly.

"Welcome to my cave," she tells you. "My name is Artimiss. I bonded my featherdrake from the Featherdrake Aeyries."

He's Timor, a male snow. I also adopted an abandoned. She's a sky female."

"Sky featherdrakes can call up wind, which makes them good on ships. They are also excellent fliers and singers. All featherdrakes are omnivors which includes fruit, leaves, and insects. They live in nests, so I have added in the shelves for them. I went to the trouble of asking for a native tree seed from their lands. That's the tree right outside. Naturally, it wouldn't be that big here, but I have some tree shaping powers (as to why there's green in my hair) and I could grow it. I also bonded one more."

"One more?" you ask incredualously.

"Just one. This one is RibbonFyre. He's mate to SkyKyss."

"Anyway, there are thirteen different types," she goes on to say. "Sun, Coal, and Flower being the lowest, Sunset, Sky, and Spring are rank 3, Ocean, Smoke, and Snow are rank 2, and then there are the Bark, Berry, and Night as rank 1. There are specials, of course, but I don't dream of bonding one of them. The special is a crystal, but their prizes for contests. I actually don't mind what kind I bond, but you're welcome to come back and see."

You thank her for the information, and leave.
