More
about Nicholas...
He was born on April 12, 1971. In junior high, Nicholas was awkward and
gawky. He suffered from acne, and stuttered. To deal with these problems,
he worked out.
Nicholas' enjoys classical and Jazz music. His first ambition was to be
a pro baseball player. But he soon realised that this was out of his reach
when he suffered from a serious arm injury. Prior to the entertainment
industry, Nicholas had jobs as an electrician, a waiter, and a messenger.
His first acting job was in a Clearasil commercial. He then went on to
"The Young and the Restless," "Married With Children," and his movie "Children
of the Corn III." He also worked as a production assistant on "Dave's
World," where he also guest starred. He landed his biggest role to date
as Xander Harris on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." This role has shot him
to worldwide fame.
Nicholas
currently lives in LA, in a house he shares with his brother, Kelly.
When
asked if he was like Xander...this is what he said: "He's more confident
than I was in high school. I was really shy, and I didn't date at all.
Now, though, I understand Xander. He's kinda goofy and a wise guy - and
so am I."
Charisma Carpenter says of him : "Without Cordelia's zingers, there would
only be Nicky Brendon's one-liners to rely on. Not that Nicky does not
do a beautiful job as Xander Harris. His frustration over Buffy's rejection
of him, and his ongoing verbal battles with Cordelia are, I think, a real
highlight of the show. I really admire Nicky's acting. He's so good, so
damn good. Just recently I was watching a rerun of the episode where Xander
asks Buffy to go to the prom with him, and she turns him down. That was
such a great scene. Nicky never ceases to amaze me.You have to make every
effort not to let your head swim when you're talking to him, because he
darts things off so quickly that it's hard to keep up. It seems like he's
all these different things rolled in one. He can come across as really
exasperating sometimes, but then when you talk to him it's like you're
talking to a little boy."
Nick is lined up to star in Scott Hillenbrand's upcoming thriller ``Pinata,''
starring a bevy of young television actors in lead roles. Nicholas Brendon
(``Buffy the Vampire Slayer''), Nate Richert (``Sabrina, the Teenage Witch''),
Garrett Wang (``Star Trek: Voyager'') and Jaime Pressly (``Push'') have
been tapped to star. ``Pinata'' tells the story of an ancient Central
American village's desperate attempt to rid itself of a dark evil force
that is cast out into a ceremonial pinata. Centuries later, the pinata
is unearthed by a group of college students during a fraternity/sorority
Cinco de Mayo scavenger hunt. Cracked open, the pinata's sin-filled soul
escapes and the students must battle its vengeful evil spirits.
