The White Lady

Few Ethereal's existences are tolerated by Heaven. Fewer still can count on safe passage beyond the borders of the Marches. And for one to be counted as 'friend' by a significant number of the Host? Ridiculous.

But then, there has never been an Ethereal quite like the White Lady.

The White Lady, which is not her name, but the Host-given alias she travels under, is a young, but very vibrant and strong Ethereal. Although she exists in the pantheon of no religion, she receives oodles of essence from the millions who 'believe' in her, and what she represents.

The White Lady recalls her origins in the late 1960's. Nybbas, often present at births like hers in those days, knew a threat when he saw one, and swiftly moved to have her "cancelled with extreme prejudice," but while he did her significant damage, even he could not forsee her enduring strength, and what she would become. Indeed, he'd thought he'd finished her, and by the time he'd learned diferently, it was too late.

She survived, and her influence grew, until she became a national, then global phenomenon. By the 1980's, she was strong enough to manifest, and soon after, using the Song of Projection, she appeared at the Gates of Heaven. Quickly, word reached the Seraphim Council that an audacious Ethereal had come seeking parlay. As she waited, the White Lady spoke to a number of the Blessed Souls who had gathered during the commotion. Some of them recognized her and immediately petitioned the investigating angels to grant her parlay, insisting that she had played a part in the achievement of their Destinies.

Since that day, the White Lady has been a privileged Ethereal, traveling where she may and working with any who she may serve. Angels from War, Lightning, Destiny, Protection, even Children and Flowers rank among her friends.

Recently, two Blesed Souls very important to the White Lady's early days have arrived in Heaven, and have set about reinforcing her activities, while her corporeal allies continue to strengthen aspects of her being on Earth.

And in a secluded corner of Jean's realm, work has begun on a vessel for the White Lady, more in keeping with her original, famous form.

And one day soon, there will finally be an answer to the question:

"What does God need, with a Starship?"
I should admit that the White Lady's genesis came from my extensive reading of Moe Lane's site, esp. the vignettes with Galahad, so he deserves some of the credit. Or blame, depending on whether you like it or not.

I also apologize for not having stats. I don't have the Ethereal handbook, and I really don't know anything about them. But... that's not the important part.
