Why Can't I Let Go?

Why do all my painful memories
stick to me forever?
Why can't I forget about
all the things that hurt me
so long ago?
Maybe I want to suffer.
Remembering good times
that will never return.
All I do is make myself
hurt all the worse.
I have to let go
to make me happier.
So why is it so hard
to forget?
