Family
Family
For centuries, it's been a strong word
"Blood is thicker than water," they say
I have a mom, a dad, two sisters
A dog
A family
But I have five more sisters
And perhaps a brother
That no one thinks about
My best friends
With me through thick and thin
No matter how many fights and boys
Or physical and mental problems
Or love sick heartbreaks shared
Or differences in hobbies
Or distances between us
Or arguments about everything under the sun
(and some that aren't)
We always stay a family
Telling secrets
Sharing stories, opinions
Life
We are close
Nothing could tear us apart
Someone once said I am the glue that keeps them together
Binds them
Perhaps she was right
But these friends, my sisters
And brother
Are the glue that keeps me strong
That keep me together
So I can hold them
