I Didn’t Mean To
I didn’t mean for this to happen,
I didn’t mean to fall.
How was I to know
What would be the outcome?
It never should have happened.
We were constant enemies!
Always fighting.
So tell me, someone, please,
Why do I feel this way?
I didn’t mean to see
In your eyes, smile, words
My whole future.
I didn’t mean to fall
And now I have
At the moment you find
Yourself with another.
I didn’t know, I swear!
One morning I woke,
And it hit me
Like a tornado, or an earthquake.
I wish I could find the words
To tell you what I feel.
But I never meant for this!
It’s all so fast.
I can’t survive near you,
But how can I survive without you?
I just want to tell you
But I can’t, it would hurt you
And her, you’re both my friends.
So I won’t say to you
How I fell in love
And all I know is
I didn’t mean to.
