Surviving in Hell
Surviving in Hell
As I stare
He talks on, oblivious
He sees only her
Never me
Never seeing my staring eyes
Seeing only the one who has stolen his heart
I wonder what he is thinking
Wonder if he even contemplates
That I love him
But he laughs, talks to her
Oblivious to my eyes
I take in his hair, his eyes, his smile
But he cannot know
For if he leaves her
It will break her heart
I dream of another future
One where he is mine, and I his
A dream of lips, of eyes
Of spoken words of love
I wonder how easy his life must be
Knowing only her
Never seeing my loving, gazing eyes
Never seeing my anguished expression
For he is in Heaven with her
And I attempt to survive in my own, tortured Hell
