While reading across my many pages, you may stumble upon the word 'simming' and wonder to yourself, 'what is this curious and mysterious word that seems to be spoken here as often as 'hello' is at a church social?' Well, my friends, fear not. This page is devoted entirely to simming.
Simming is a form of acting and RPGing (Role-Playing Games). In simming, one would make up a character, or use a current one, and go into a chat room and sim with others of their interest. Often, people would sim Star Wars, Animorphs, and ::shudder:: Rhydin, that magical land where moders run free ... what is a moder, you ask? A moder is a cheater, one who either doesn't know or doesn't follow the rules. Usually both. And what are these rules, oh simming Mistress? The rules, dear reader, are as follows:
Rules:
A post is whatever you write down in the simming.
To put actions into the simming, you must put ::[action]:: or -=[action]=- around the action.
To talk, you can use quotation marks, but no one ever does in chatrooms.
Usually, you cannot put a one-worded action into a post. Things such as: ::fires:: would be a mode. In simming, one must try to get as detailed as one possiblely can. There are some exceptions, like: ::smiles:: but that's about it.
To talk OOC -- or, Out Of Character -- while you are IC -- or, In Character -- you must put (([words])) around whatever you say.
These are the basic rules of simming. The only simming we do here is Star Wars and Animorphs; Star Wars in chatrooms, and Animorphs on paper. (Note: To read some Animorphs simming and get a feel for how to sim, go to www.fanfiction.net and look up the simming, under the author name of JenJaina.) I encourage all of you folks out there to take up your own simming -- whether it be Animorphs, Star Wars, or something completely new!
