Summary: The missing scene from Counterpoints

The young ensign stepped out of the lift. It wasn't his stop, he just wanted out. They waited until the doors closed before they dropped their faux conversation "So, did you kiss him?" The Commander stared straight ahead and the Captain wasn't sure whetter or not he even said anything. "So" He repeated, "Did you kiss him?"
"What does it matter commander?" She was tiered, confused and scared, she didn't need this and he should have known that!
"You did didn't? I knew it, don't bother to deny it!"
"Deny what? I'm not denying anything."
"Good!"
"Oh, so I have your blessing to kiss him again Chakotay? Or was it good that I wasn't denying it?" Silence. Silence. Silence.
"So, I suppose you enjoyed it?"
"Enjoy what?"
"Enjoy what?!? The Kiss!"
"That's none of your damned business Chakotay!"
"You're right."
"I know I'm right, can we just for-" He interrupted her
"You still didn't answer my question, did you enjoy it?"
"What the hell is going on with you Commander? Get a hold of yourself!"
"Why not me Kathryn?"
"Excuse me?'
"Why did you kiss him,a complete stranger and enemy, over me?"
"I'm not getting into th-"
"Why him?"
"You want to know why Chakotay? You really really want to know why? I'll tell you why, because I wanted to, is that all right? Why that 8472? Why Crewman Biore? Why all those women? Why Riley? The doors opened and Kathryn stepped out and as the doors closed she spoke something that Chakotay wasn't sure he heard "Why not me?"
