Part 1 - DaiDreamer

Liam streched in his chair in the american Taelon embassy. He was working late tonight and Da'an was off somewhere. (He didn't tell where he was going) Liam looked at the large pile of paper and wonder if there was anything worst than working late and doing paper work.

Yeah,Liam thought,Become a companion protector. see a Large pile of papers on your desk everday. Liam began to work on the pile of paper in front of him and again wondered if there was anything worst than doing paper work late at night... then his global beeped,

"Hello?" asked Liam.

"Major Kincaid," said the voice at the other end, "Zo'or requests your presence on the mothership imediately."

The Volenteer then cut the connection. Liam's question, however, was answered....

Part 2 - Kathryn

What could Zo'or possibly want now? thought Liam in exasperation. Why me and why now? To that Taelon

everything that happens is a dire emergency, there's only one thing worse than going to see Zo'or. Suddenly

Agent Sandoval burst into his office, without knocking of course.

"Major Kincaid, we must leave immediately, Zo'or has requested our presence."

"Yes, Mr. San-do-wal, he just contacted me." Like Sandoval didn't know that already. "Do you know what's going

on?"

"Major, I'm sure you'll be fully briefed when we arrive."

Liam hated Sandoval's smugness, /He may be my father but I'm nothing like him/. Furthermore, from Sandoval's

answer, Liam knew that Sandoval had already been told what was going on. Liam followed Sandoval to the

shuttle, climbed into the driver's seat and started the drive.

Part 3 - Kathryn

"Zo'or you wanted to see me?" asked Liam.

"Yes, we have a . . . situation which I'm sure Agent Sandoval has already briefed you on."

Sandoval spoke up, "Zo'or, I felt it more prudent . . ."

Liam interrupted, "In otherwords, no, he didn't tell me."

Zo'or spoke, "Then allow me to explain . . ."

Part 4 - DaiDreamer

Zo'or rose from his seat.

"This is a very delicate project, Major Kincaid. I'm going to trust you to treat it as such." Zo'or then walked to

the virual glass window and look down on Earth.

"You have read the reports on the recent resistance raids. After Jonathan Doors began to campaign for

president, resistance began to get more disorganized. "

"But then some one took over from where Doors left off." Continued Sandoval. Liam began to tense up.

"So what does this have to do with me?" asked Liam.

"We want you to go into the resistance and uncover the identity of this new leader."

"I don't mean to be disrepectful, but I'm kind of noticable. I'll be shot on sight."

"That fact has been taken into consideration. As I said before, this is a delicate mission. Only those with the

highest clearance can be trusted with this information," said Zo'or.

"Since you are the only companion protector without a CVI, this makes you more opinionated and gives you less

job secruity," pointed out Sandoval.

"Meaning what?" asked Liam.

Part 5 - tag

"Meaning that it will be easier for the Resistance to believe that you have become disenchanted with the

Taelons," Sandoval replied.

I don't believe this... they're asking me to infiltrate the Resistance? Liam thought in disbelief. Then another

thought occurred to him... Could this be a trap? "And why should the Resistance believe me?" he countered. "I've

always been loyal to the Taelons."

"Because, Major, you're going to be fired," Sandoval explained. "It will seem believable, since, as I said, you are

the only Companion Protector without a CVI - and because you will make some very public comments questioning

the Taelons and the Synod. You will be so upset by the betrayal that you will appear to be a perfect recruit for

the Resistance. They should be delighted to have an ex-Protector among their numbers."

"But what about Da'an? Who will protect him while I'm gone - assuming I accept this assignment? I still don't

think that they're going to believe that I would have suddenly changed my opinions of the Taelons."

Part 6 - DaiDreamer

"That will be taken care of," replied Zo'or, not saying anymore on that topic,"After you discover the Identity of

their leader, I want you to bring him to me. Alive" Stressed Zo'or.

"So, Major. Do you accept this mission?" asked Sandoval.

Liam hesitated.

"I accept."

Part 7 - Kathryn

Liam sat next to Augur in the hideout.

"They want you to WHAT???? And you accepted."

"Augur I had no choice! If I refused I'm under suspicion plus if they do recruit someone else - then what? Then I

would have no control over the situation."

"Like you do now? Oh, yeah, every day the a companion protector is given the assignment to track down the

leader of the resistance who just happens to be himself."

"Stop it Augur, I . . ." Liam paused as Augur indicated the vidscreen and turned up the volume.

The reporter was speaking " . . . And in other news, Major Liam Kincaid, protector to the North American

companion, Da'an, was fired today. The Taelons did not specify the reason but Major Kincaid has his own ideas .

. . (cut to clip of Liam speaking)

"The Taelons fired me because I expressed concern over their actions. I was concerned that they were not

acting in neither the best interests of humanity nor the Taelon commonality. They took my concern over the

wellbeing of our universe and percieved it as a personal attack upon their presence. Up until that time I had

served the Taelons faithfully and believed in their presence here. Now I'm not so sure. It even goes further than

that. For months I've felt that they've been keeping secrets from me - not allowing me to protect Da'an the best

that I can. I think we (humanity) should seriously reconsider their actions. Also, I think the resistance has been

persecuted for their beliefs just as I was fired for mine and I would like to apologize for pursueing them for as

long as I have. While I don't always agree with their methods and I abhor the violence, I agree with the

sentiment, Thank you."

The reporter continued talking as Augur turned the volume back down. "Liam, you are so deep in trouble this

time, I don't think you can possibly get out of it."

"Thanks Augur, that really helps alot."

Just then Renee Palmer enters the hideout. "What just happened and what the heck do you think you were

doing?"

NEXT PART . . .

Part 8 - DaiDreamer

"Saving our butts," replied Liam.

"From what?" asked Rene. She walked down the steps and faced Liam. "Do you know how much trouble this little

project of Zo'or's could cost us?"

Liam retorted, "Which is the reason why I took on Zo'or's little project myself."

Rene throw Liam a dirty look and was about to say something but Augur interupted.

"Well, It's too late now." said Augur trying to break the tension in the room, "Might as well help you with your

new assignment."

He went up to his computer and loaded up a file, "so Liam, Where do we want to go today. pointed at the Taelon

file on all known resistance cells.

Part 9 - Jade45

"I don't believe this," Renee muttered, "I really, really don't believe this."

"We heard you," Liam growled from his hunched position over the computer.

"Maybe Da'an could help," Augur suggested.

Liam paused and looked up at him.

"You. Are. Crazy. Listen, Da'an knows about my Resistance ties...but I'm going to tell him about THIS?"

"Sure, why not?"

"Sure, why not?" Liam mocked, "Morning Da'an, I haven't really been fired, as you already know, but I need your

help on this little assignment, I'm supposed to infiltrate the Resistance but I'm IN the Resistance and I'm

supposed to turn in their leader and by the way I'M the leader....."

"Okay, okay, point taken," Augur broke in. "But Da'an is probably the only Taelon we can trust, and I don't know

about you but I don't know ANY Human who can pull something off like this."

"Augur, news flash," Renee broke in, "Da'an's already betrayed the Resistance. Big time."

"Yeah," Liam said.

Augur sighed and leaned on the counter top.

"Alright. Then what're we going to do?"

Part 10 - DaiDreamer

"We'll give them the leader of the resistance," said Rene.

"What?!?!" yelled Augur, as Liam shot Rene a unreadable expression.

"Well," Rene began to explain, " There's a certain cell in the southwestern United States."

"Alright," said Liam," And?"

"The only problem with this cell is their leader. He's crazy. I know. They know it. And know you know it. The only

person who doesn't know it is himself."

"And what does this have to do with give the Taelons Liam?" asked Augur.

"We don't. We give the taelons this guy." finished Rene.

"What!?!?!" said Liam.

Part 11 - Jade45

"Renee, that's...that's just wrong!"

"What's so wrong about it?" Renee muttered, "I've had some global conversations with that guy and I can tell

you he's starting to get on my nerves."

"For one thing, he's NOT the leader of the Resistance. I am. And as leader I should take responsibility for the

dangers of that position. Just because some guy is slightly eccentric doesn't mean I should turn him in to save

my own skin."

"'Slightly eccentric?' Liam, the guy is insane! Nuts! Mad!"

"Besides, the Taelons'll torture him. He's a cell leader, so he has information that can't reach Taelon ears. And he

also knows that I'M really the leader. He'll tell them that. They might not believe it, but they'll investigate

anyway. And then I'm dead."

Renee glared at him in a way that announced she thought that that might not be a bad idea.

Part 12 - Gaeriel

"Listen Liam, that might not be such a bad idea," Liam regarded Auger with suprise.

"What, Renee's plan or my death?"

"Renee's plan, but both might work."

"You're insane!" Liam shouted, incredulous. There has to be another option.

Auger leaned back on an overstuffed chair, "I have an idea. But you won't like it."

Liam stared cautiously at his friend, "What?"

"I say lets let Lili be the leader for a little while."

Liam and Renee's eyes looked as if they were about to pop, "You're kidding, right?" Renee asked, "you do know

that the Taelons think she's dead."

"Of course I do, I'm not stupid. It'll work. Lets just say that Lili took over. She 'died' and the leaders of the

resistance cells formed a type of council. The Taelons couldn't possibly uncover all of them. So what do you

think?"

Hmm. Renee, Liam, and Auger down in Auger's place disscussing sensitive info. Sounds familiar, don't it. Hee hee

Part 13 - Jade45

Liam rolled his eyes. "Great. And then Zo'or is going to have me track down as many of these council people as I

can. THAT won't be too hard. Maybe we could have Renee find a whole PANEL of nuts Resistance members. That

might work."

"Look, Liam, it's the only chance we've got. Our best one."

"I don't know..."

"Maybe Da'an can help," Augur said again.

"Augur, shutp," Renee said tolerantly.

Liam shook his head, "I don't know...maybe I could just say that Lili was the leader, but there isn't even a

council. The Resistance is in chaos. Not organized at all."

Augur looked thoughtfully at Liam. "That just might work...."

"Yeah, it might," Renee said sourly. "But while we're at it, let's get rid of that nuts cell leader, okay? He's is

really, really grinding my nerves."

Part 14 - Jade45

"Zo'or." Liam held the global away from the light. There. The glare wasn't as bad anymore.

"Yes, Major. Have you completed your assignment?" the Synod leader's cold voice had just a thread of

anticipation running through it.

"Yes...I'm sorry to tell you, but the Leader- or FORMER Leader, I should say, was the traitor Captain Lili

Marquette."

Traitor. Saying the word wanted to make him spit in Zo'or's face.

The Taelon's face looked slightly disappointed.

"The Resistance is in chaos," Liam went on. "The are immobilized, unable to act, for lack of leadership."

"Are there any very influential Resistance members that might be of use to us?"

Liam swallowed. There was only one answer to that.

"Yes."

"Have them detained then. You have done well Major. Continue your assignment." Zo'or signed off without

waiting for Liam's acknowledgement. He blinked. Was that a compliment he had just received from Zo'or?

Part 15 - DaiDreamer

Zo'or closed down communications lines and turned to Sandoval.

"It seems Major Kincaid is making progress," said Sandoval.

"Yes, it does," replied Zo'or, "What is the progress of our other project?"

"The cargo should arrive on time."

"Good," said Zo'or, pleased with himself,"With Major Kincaid distracted by his current assignment and Da'an off on

his own, no one will know of its arrival."

Next!!!!

Part 16 - Li'zel

Sandoval nodded curtly to Zo'or and turned away.

**

When Liam walked into Augur's, he felt like he should turn around and go back to announce that HE was the

leader. Lili was dead; why had he dishonored her memory like _this_?

"So did he swallow it?" Augur asked.

"Swallow what?"

"that the crazy guy was the leader," Renee looked at him with disbeleif. "Or did you not go through with it?"

"Um..."

"I can't believe this. You didn't SAY?"

"No, I told Zo'or about the leader... I just said that Lili used to be the leader. I hoped it would solve the

problem... if they think that the Resistance has no leader, maybe they'll be less worried-"

"YOU WHAT?!" Augur demanded. "How could you do that to her?"

"Augur, I'm really sorry-"

Part 17 - Jade45

"Besides," he went on acidicly, "It was YOUR idea in the first place."

"I didn't- I didn't MEAN you should-"

"Alright," Renee cut in. "Stop it. Liam did the right thing. I never knew Lili Marquette, but she sounds like

someone I would have liked. And we need to use everything at our disposal, besides," she looked at Augur with

contempt, "I mean she's DEAD, right?"

Liam had to physically hold Augur back from tackling Renee. "Shutup!" he screamed at her, "Shutup! Take it back!

Take it back!"

"Augur...Augur, calm down." Liam finally got Augur to back down. Then he explained his conversation with Zo'or.

Renee looked coldly at him. "Well. Now that Zo'or swallowed it, hook, line and sinker... let's make sure that those

'influential' members are convincingly detained, shall we?"

Part 18 - DaiDreamer

Liam looked at Rene.

"I'll check out this cell, but I won't turn anyone in. Understand?"

"Of course," said Rene, "It's your call." She then left the hidout.

"Ooo," said Augur, "I didn't like the look on her face."

"Augur, You understand what I did," said Liam.

"Yes, I do but that doesn't mean I like it," Retorted Augur,a s he turned back to his computer. "You want some

info on this cell?

"Yeah," said Liam.

Augur handed Liam a disk. "Good luck," Augur said as Liam was walking out the door.

Da'an sat in his embassy.

Something's not right, he thought. Liam was off on some special project in which he could comment about.

Zo'or's project. Zo'or also was occupied by something. At first Da'an assumed that it was Liam's project. Deciding

that Zo'or wouldn't give Liam this assignment if he wanted to keep it from himself, Da'an knew that the project

was the root of the problem. But the question was: What was the problem?

Something's not right, thought Da'an agian. Suddenly Da'an had a horrible thought and rushed to the ID portal.
