Dragons evolved from now mythical beings who came to this planet to escape their inevitable extinction at the hands of the Goa'uld. They came here just after the meteor shower that caused the distruction of the dinosaurs and grew up with prehistoric man, thus creating all the stories and legands we have today. Dragons still exist today in the remote hills of Greenland and Switzerland, but their numbers are few.
