"What the hell happened here?" Kathryn stormed in, still clutching her loose corset and nearly tripping over the hoopskirt. Chakotay found it all vastly amusing.
"She started it," both Seven and B'Elanna said at once. The Borg woman had a bloody nose and B'Elanna actually was starting to get a black eye.
"I was merely trying to . . ." Seven started at the same time with B'Elanna . . .
"She started to access . . ." B'Elanna said.
Kathryn turned to look at Chakotay who was quite awkwardly trying not to laugh, "This is going to be a long night . . . without Fair Haven."
"Harry!" Tom nearly shouted, "Quit hogging the covers."
"Me? You're the one who has the pillow," Harry said through clenched teeth. "Besides what do you expect when we're sharing one single size bed mid-nineteenth century style?"
"I expect you to volunteer to sleep on the floor," Tom said.
"Did you hear that?" Harry asked suddenly.
"That's the fifth time you asked me that and NO I didn't hear anything. When Michael said we could have the bed . . . I didn't think it would be . . well *a* bed," Tom complained. "I'd rather be out there with the Guinness about now."
"There it is again?" Harry sat up in bed suddenly, clutching a big lump of the covers.
"Boys! Boys!" Michael burst in on the pair, with a flood of light illuminating him from the bedroom. "Do ye hear that?! It's the banshee . . . she's coming to get me!" Suddenly a rather shrill shriek filled the space of the night's air.
Tom snapped open a tricorder, his face pale, "What the hell is going on? I'm reading that a character was added . . . and it most *definitely* is a . . . a . . . . a . . ." Tom's face went blank and his mouth dropped opened.
"A . . .?" Harry prompted and then turned his vision to the path that Tom's was directed . . . the window. There, outside of it, illuminated in the moonlight and streaked with torrents of harsh Irish rain was the pale face of a woman, contorted in a demonic expression, her eyes vacant, her lips blood red and her wild black hair sticking vividly to the wet window and the sides of her face.
Tom, Harry and Michael all screamed at once.
"Jesus Mary 'N' Joseph!!!" Michael said before passing out as Harry and Tom ran past him out into the streets of Fair Haven.
"We left Michael!" Harry stopped at Maggie's flower stand, which was closed-up for the night, because it was near the arch.
"T'hell with Michael! He's a holonovel character -- he can't come to much harm! Us on the other hand . . ."
"Tom? Harry?" Came a sudden masculine voice causing them to jump and once more call out in fright.
"Chakotay?" Tom asked incredulously. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh god . . . now I get it" Harry groaned.
"Get what?" Tom asked incredulously.
Chakotay smirked, "You mean to say, Tom, that *you* of all people couldn't figure out that I was the one who added the Banshee to stalk Michael Sullivan?"
"No," Tom said in disbelief. "You wouldn't stoop so low in your love for the Captain to torment a hologram . . ." he looked around at the stoic faces . . . "would you?"
Harry smiled, "I think he would."
"What can I say . . . things were a little to fair for Michael and a little to unfair for me," Chakotay stated glumly and sat down on the street corner, the rain bouncing off his hair. "I really have sunk low . . . to be jealous of a hologram."
Tom sat beside Chakotay and was soon joined by Harry. "I don't know Chakotay," Tom said thinking, "if B'Elanna had been the one to fall in love with a hologram instead of me . . . I think I might be a little more than jealous."
"Thanks," Chakotay laughed.
"But you've got to set things right, Chakotay. If the Captain finds out," Harry started.
"I know Harry and that's what I came here to do. I set the Holographic banshee to activate every night at midnight and then to delete itself leaving virtually no trace for anyone to discover it. Trust me, Tuvok doesn't have a clue," he laughed with both men. "But something went wrong, it shouldn't have reactivated itself tonight."
"But it did," Harry said worriedly. "What were you going to do when Michael told Janeway his 'nightly horrors' anyhow?"
Chakotay sighed, "I was going to erase all memories pertaining to the events."
Both Tom and Paris gapped, but Paris pulled himself together a minute before Harry, "Come on Chakotay, let's go figure this out before the Captain sends us back to the Kazon part of the Delta Quadrant."
Chakotay smiled, "Thanks."
"So what else have you been up to in the holodeck, Chakotay?" Tom asked.
"That's for me to know and for you to wonder, Paris," Chakotay gave a knowing smile.
