Anomalous Mars

Spirit rover anomalies-Sol 14...

Hi everyone, there are many unusual items including artifacts and anomalies that are strewn about Spirit rover's neighborhood in Gusev crater. My processed images were obtained from the original NASA/JPL 2P127603162EFF0309P2542R1M1 Sol 14 panoramic source image. The source image appears to show a number of anomalies and artifacts that appear to be indicative of an ancient civilization that once lived on Mars.

Click on Spirit to view the original source image.

Click on outline to view my cropped, enlarged, and outlined image that I obtained from the upper-right corner of the original source image. The only changes that were made to the source image to generate this image was the placement of outline rectangles and circles around the possible anomalies and artifacts in the image.

There appears to be other possible anomalies and artifacts in the remainder of the original source image. I have endeavored to outline the most prominent anomalies and artifacts in the processed images below. There are a number of possible anomalies and artifacts in those images that haven't been outlined.

The following cropped, enlarged, and enhanced image 1.1 was obtained from the upper-left corner of the large outlined image.

The orange rectangle in the upper-left corner of Image 1.1 contains two anomalies. There appears to be a skull or a skull-like object in the upper-left corner of the orange rectangle. Note, there is also another skull-like object underneath the word "rover" in the upper-right corner of the image. To the left of that skull-like object is a rectangular box-like object.

There appears to be a possible artifact in the center of the orange rectangle. The potential artifact seems to be composed of three main parts. The right side of the artifact has a deep inset rectangular hole. The center of the artifact appears to be raised and cylindrical in shape. There is a small sphere-like object on top of the artifact adjacent to a hole in the left side of the artifact. At the extreme left end of the artifact is a long narrow opening. This artifact could have been part of a larger machine or be the remnant of a broken-down machine.

The cyan (greenish-blue) circle just to the right of the orange rectangle contains a possible artifact that resembles a gear or a nut. There appears to be gear-like projections particularly on the left-rear side of the artifact.

The purple circle directly below the orange rectangle contains a possible artifact that appears to be lying on its side. The artifact has a rectangular hole in its front side and two little holes on its left end. There appears to be a curved flap at the bottom of the rectangular hole which gives the appearance that it might have been torn from the artifact. There is also another opening above the rectangular opening on top of the artifact. The right side has a dark linear mark or indentation. A different perspective of this artifact is provided in the next image below.

The cyan rectangle located in the bottom of the image contains another anomaly that may be an artifact or may be some type of fossilized Martian life form. The possible life form has a possible projection or head that is resting on a dark rock that is raised at an angle. It could be taken for a turtle considering the round shell-like rear portion of the possible fossilized life form or possibly some type of crustacean. There is a small hole on top of the rear round part that could be do to decay or injury.

Alternatively instead of a fossilized life form, the anomaly could be some type of machine part or a tool with a lever or arm that is attached to, or wedged in between, the rear rounded section of the tool.

The following Image 1.2 was obtained by rotating Image 1.1 above clockwise.

In Image 1.2 above, the skulls or skull-like objects mentioned above have maintained their integrity despite the image rotation and further enlargement due to the rotation algorithm.

The rectilinear and orthogonal sides on the left-rear end of the artifact in the orange rectangle are clearly depicted in the above image. There is also the possibility that the artifact is actually two adjacent artifacts. One of the artifacts may have broken apart from the other.

The gear or nut artifact in the cyan circle has maintained its integrity and is more clearly depicted in the above image.

The possible curved flap on the artifact in the purple circle can be seen more clearly in the above image.

The "V" shape under the tool, machine part, or fossil in the cyan rectangle is more clearly depicted in the above image.

The following cropped, enlarged, and enhanced Image 1.3 was obtained from the upper-right corner of the large outlined image.

The red circle in the upper-left corner of the above image appears to contain a white colored artifact with a rhombus-shaped (diamond-shaped) hole in it that has several finger-like objects protruding out from it.

The blue circle located directly under the red circle in the above image appears to contain either a possible life form with a circular or tubular center and approximately three thin legs on its right side or some type of machine, part, or high-technology device.

The green rectangle located in the lower-right corner of the above image contains an anomalous object that has a raised curved dark protruding part that appears to be wedged into a "V" shaped area between two outer whitish-colored parts. The top of the wedged-in curved black part has a whitish area on it. It is very faint but there may be a design on the top of the dark part. The front of the anomalous object is indented and contains holes that give it a design effect. The left side of the object extends in front of the object and has white-colored strands and/or streaks along its length that are either composed of high-albedo material or are some type of living or fossilized organism. There is an alternative possibility that the object is some type of machine part, tool, or carved artifact.

The following cropped, enlarged, and enhanced Image 1.4 was obtained from the lower-right corner of the large outlined image.

The green circle in the upper-left corner of the above image appears to contain two anomalies. The anomaly in the top half of the circle appears to be an artifact composed of a dark colored stalk-like or pillar-like object with a rounded top that is standing on a geometric-shaped base. The bottom of the circle seems to contain a conical shaped artifact that also that sits on a circular base. The left side of the circular base has grooves or curved marks on it.

Directly below the green circle is a red rectangle that appears to contain a carved artifact that looks like a face that has eyes, a nose, a mouth, and a chin. The face also appears to be wearing a helmet with a white band that has two black marks on it. The white band goes across the forehead. The face seems to be seated on a white base that wraps around the face.

The purple rectangle located below the red rectangle seems to contain two artifacts. The artifact in the upper-left corner of the rectangle has a geometric-shaped top with an inset square area on the top of the artifact. The artifact in the bottom part of the rectangle has a saddle shape.

The orange circle located in the middle of the bottom of the above image appears to contain a possible fossilized marine animal with an open mouth. It may alternatively be a carved artifact seated atop an underlying base.

The yellow rectangle located just to the right of the middle of the above image appears to contain a nut or nut-like object that is leaning against two post-like objects.

The blue rectangle located in the middle of the right side of the above image seems to contain
a geometric-shaped artifact with a hole in the left side.

There is a possible multi-holed white artifact located just above the center of the image and just to the upper-right of the red rectangle.

There is a possible prominent upwardly-curved artifact located directly under the number "1.4" in the title of the above image.

There is a possible white-colored triangular artifact located in the extreme upper-right corner of above image directly under the copyright symbol "©" in the above image's title. The triangular artifact also apears to be leaning against other possible artifacts in that corner.

The following Image 1.5 was obtained by rotating Image 1.4 above clockwise.

The above image depicts the face in the red rectangle in the vertical position. The face maintained its integrity despite the rotation and the concomitant enlargement. The other artifacts in the rotated image above also maintained their integrity through rotation and enlargement.

The following cropped, enlarged, and enhanced Image 1.6 was obtained from the lower-left corner of the large outlined image.

The yellow circle located in the upper-left corner of the above image depicts a possible triangular-shaped artifact that appears to be constructed using interlocking tube-like components.

Note, the saddle-shaped artifact in the purple rectangle appears to have faint designs on it and a possible small face on its upper-right side.

There is an additional geometric detail depicted for the top artifact shown in the purple rectangle in the above image. It shows that there is a second depression in its top in addition to the square-shaped depression. That depression is located on the top right side of the artifact.

The conical artifact in the green circle is more clearly depicted in the above enlarged image. Its features including the grooves located at the left side of its base can clearly be seen. The possible fossilized marine animal or alternatively possible artifact in the orange circle is enlarged and can be seen more clearly in the above image.

The face in the red rectangle maintained its integrity despite the increased enlargement in the above image.
