Recent History
The Ahldain elves built a grand empire (Namar) and peace reigned for some time. Humans and elves traded with each other but over time began to distrust each other. Then about 300 years ago the dwarves came over from the Eastern Sea, purportedly aided by their god. They claimed that the elves wronged them in the First World and that they were now paying back the misdeed. They hunted down and butchered almost all elves and any human who got in the way. They took over the kingdom of Namar, relocated the capital to the Constral Mts. and began a tyrannical reign. The Tyrant dwarf leader soon died. Ever since the dwarves have kept their reign on the civilized world. Humans are looked upon as lesser beings (less than pigs) and many dwarves have human slaves. It is still required of humans and elves to lower their heads when walking by a dwarf or, if riding , one must dismount until the dwarf has passed. One clan of dwarves (Dwarves of the Crossbow) has been known to kill those who don't respect this law.
There are some secret elven and human organizations who oppose the current Namarian Empire.
Some are in open rebellion, these organizations are the target of many dwarven war parties.
Other organizations profess allegiance, while secretly plotting against the Empire. Some of these have been discovered and destroyed.
