Back Story: Back in 1978, Forge was working on a really advanced trans-dimensional science fair project for high school (why, if he was this smart, he was still going to high school is beyond me) when it malfunctioned and zapped him into a pocket dimension. Not knowning what happened, the school locked up his equipment in the basement- and nothing much happened, until Kurt "discovered" the gizmo that had malfunctioned and trapped himself in there. He eventually found Forge, who, despite spending over 20 years in a pocket dimension where you could see the "real world", yet not interact with it, was surprisingly sane. Forge had also not aged a day the entire time, due to the side effects of the pocket dimension. With Kurt's help, they both got out of there, and Forge went back home to his parents in another part of Bayville, who must've been astonished to find their son alive after all these years, yet still just as old as he had been back in '78. Obvious family problems, there... Anyway, Forge still visits the X-Men occasionally, and is friends with Nightcrawler, but has mostly been doing his own thing.
Personality: As mentioned earlier, Forge is surprisingly sane after spending all those years by his lonesome. He tends to get a bit carried away with his projects, but that's really his only major flaw. Forge is obviously the genius of all geniuses, and knows how to get practically anything to work. He can create something innovative out of seemingly nothing. However, Forge, for some strange reason, hasn't given out his real name.
Final Reflections: First off, Forge's backstory was the lamest out of any of the characters in Evolution, easily. I mean, really... you trapped yourself in a pocket dimension. And the school just hid the gizmo in a basement. And then you're still perfectly fine over two decades later. Riiight. Still, once you get past his backstory, Forge was a pretty cool character- he was really smart, but not a "geek" like most of the other tech-heads in cartoons nowadays. Too bad both of the episodes he was in were the worst of the series, I thought-- thus, I kinda have an aversion to him that probably isn't well-deserved.
