They say that between the two, we are the
most intelligent
For beasts, though we bear their skins,
cannot express a statement
Such as "I love you" or "You’re my friend"
But follow that logic to its end!
They also cannot say "I’m angry" or "Let’s
blow them away"
Nor hatred express in a verbal way
They say that between the two, we have the
most smarts
For beasts, though we bear their skins,
do not have real emotion in their hearts
Such as friendship or true love
But do they know what they speak of?
Matters of love have caused such pain and
sorrow
And makes us wish of the beasts more can
we borrow
They say that between the two, we are their
superiors
For beasts, though we bear their skins,
do not have our interiors
Such as metal armor, complex system designs
But it’s not that beasts are simple like
lines
In wombs and eggs they put themselves together
Yet compare the complexity of our bodies
to a single feather…
They say a lot, but even though they’ve
said it all along
For beasts, at least, what they say is
sometimes wrong
Such as with design, emotions, and brains
But now we must wash away their judgmental
stains
We live and learn these beastly bodies
every single day
And we can’t afford to judge them by what
"they say"
