Marble Statues
by: Jeffery Campbell

Steady hands chiseling marble,
Implanting their visions to form
Carved ridges in the psyche's dorm.
Mere creations of lives lived garbled,
Sculptures breathe through the artist's eyes.
Chipping supposed imperfections
Away to smooth it's complexion,
The sculptor captures confused cries
And immortalizes the stone.
The hardened and tranfixed clay block
Forever bears the craftsman's pock.
The lone silhouette calmy moans.
